Great find, Moose.  I'm surprised Rick Barnes was so open about signing a player to a scholarship when he had none avaiable. I just think he's a dirty coach, and I don't throw that around often like my boy Baldi.

Has there been a player of Tim Duncan's magnitude that has stayed 4 years since?   Will there ever be another one?

hansbrough?

There college stats are comparable but the main difference would be Hansbrough wasnt looked at as a pro early in his career while timmy was.

Exactly.  Duncan probably would have been the Top pick any year after his freshman if he decided to come out.  Hansbrough i'd put in the Laettner category.  Great college player, not so great pro.   I still Laettner was the best college player i've seen,  considering everything he and his team accomplished.

You ain't kidding.  Duncan would have been a senior on that 97 Providence team that took eventual champs Arizona to OT and down to the last shot.  Duncan, Garces, and Croshere would have been one of the best frontlines in college history, and Providence still had Shammgod, Jamel Thomas, and DERRICK BROWN--one of my all-time favorite Big-East players.
