The season is not that far away so who do you see as our chief rivals?  Thinking back to the Georgetown Patrick era, Syracuse with the Pearl, Nova with the great battles we had with them.  Who will step up to be hated (in just a sports way) this go round?
I showed my age with the examples I choose, didn't I

Aside from the traditional rivals (GTown, Cuse, Nova), Pitt has potential to be a real good rivalry.

I think we should keep the home and home going with UCLA.  But that's just me!   :2funny:

All of em.  Time for us to take the reigns and have a target on our back.  For me though, Uconn, Syracuse and Pitt with  coming up the rear are all teams I'd like to see us rivals with.  I though last years buzzer beater game against Pitt really started something as did the controversial RU game.  Aside from them, Cuse and Uconn fans travel the best and feel hey own the garden.  Time to take it back.

Me too as another poster stated, you got NY/LA, East coast/west coast, big east/pac 10, and the whole Lavin thing. Makes sense for both teams

Frankly it's a whole bunch of teams. The team we play that day is our biggest rival. Why ? Because we will be playing in front of a packed house everytime we play and teams want to get the pub of coming into MSG and beating the NYC team. The days when we have only a G'Town, Cuse, Pukon, to consider our main rivals is over. Add Pitt, Nova, ND, Marquette, Rutgers, Ville, at least. Where we used to have 3 legit teams that you could've called our main rivals, we now have or will have at least 9. The rising tide of SJU basketball lifts all boats.

Graduated from SUNY Albany and can never get the voices of those Cuse fans out of my head...drove me crazy. UConn makes me sick. Watch out for Rutgers from here forward I really like what they are doing.

Rivals change all the time.  I'd say right now I hate Syracuse the most...their fans are just annoying.  Uconn is 2nd most hated in my book.  After that it's Georgetown and then quite a fall off to the rest of the teams with Nova eventually coming fourth.

The whole battle for New York thing with Syracuse makes things interesting.

Agree.  I think it makes Syracuse and Uconn our two biggest just because they both try to claim our Garden.
