Naw - it's like a married couple - sympathy cancer 

Despite the prospects of being pretty miserable for a couple months, the prognosis is good.   I can watch the ads for "50/50" and say, "huh, LOSER" (to his odds).   Got caught farily early (apparently unusual in esophogeal cancer) - had a cat scan as a follow up on some heart procedures (stents), and the doctor noticed a slightly enlarged esophagus.  Spread to Lymph nodes, but not to the lungs (Had a PET Scan - got a good news/bad news from the pumonologist - "good news, nothing showing in the lungs.  Bad news, Esophagus lit up like a christmas tree")   Havn't had any of the normal symptoms, just weakness & fatigue which had been masked by the heart problem.   Anyway, supposedly there's a definitive thumbs up or thumbs down on this BEFORE there's one on Amir and 2nd semester!

The bad news is indeed bad, but the good news -- that it was caught early -- is indeed good news.

CR, know that we're all pulling for you. You may very well be a diehard Bruin fan, but in a relatively short time you've also been embraced here and on Redmen.com as a member of the St. John's family. And all of us who aren't atheists -- even an agnostic like myself -- are indeed praying for you, and we also join our professed atheists in, if nothing else, wishing and hoping for the best for you.

Hang in there and fight that disese. It took my dad and other family members, so I love seeing people beating that thing. Best of luck, keep fighting, and you'll come out a winner, just like our team last year!

CR Best of luck in your battle. Had chemo treatments in 99 and it has been all good ever since. Hope you have the same results. Your in my thoughts.
