Intersting tidbit on Pac 10 committed 2011 Point Guards - The NCAA clearinghouse hasn't okayed Arizona State commit Jahii Carson(2011 RSCI #30).   Seems there's a question about the summer school classes he took to qualify....supposedly took the classes online.  But the NCAA is questioning how he was able to compelte them, as he was out of the country competing with the US Under 19 National Team this summer.  Hey - if they don't clear him and he has to re-up -  how about a quartet of non-qualifiers for 2012?  (Jahii is REALLY good)....

I read about Carson's situation a week ago.  The Johnnies were actually on his short list prior to his commitment to Arizona State.  I'm not sure he'll leave the west coast, as he was originally an Oregon State commit.  But, I assume he's worth another attempt.

Someone should explain to the NCAA that they have access to the Internet in other countries.

Think it has to do with the games, travel, practice schedule, social life, team commitments, and the number of classes taken - rather than did he have web access.

The class was NCAA approved.
He took it.
He passed.

The NCAA needs to get their head out of their asses and stop trying to be SVU detectives.  Go focus on money changing hands and that crap.

Attack basketball, pressure defense, 40 minutes of hell ... Early on it might be 30 minutes of hell, then 10 minutes of what the hell are you doing?"

Verballed.  Still has 9 days to b!tch slap another school.   Wait till he finds out frosh Brett Kingma (Washington 4A player of the year, led his team to the 4A state title game with 25 a game, who turned down AZ State, BYU and Washington to come to Oregon) will be one year established by the time he gets there :)

I thought he officially signed with them, but the story could change. Weren't there rumors about Oregon getting hit with sanctions?

He had a really good performance at the Hall of Fame High school invitational vs. #1 Simeon (IL.) really showed good IQ and knows how to score the basketball. He mastered a blowout without Bennett taking the floor (due to injury). Watching Oregon this year he is just what they lack! Smart move by him decommiting to UCLA he would be Vinny Chases back up
I don't know how branch compares but if he is anything like this kid we will be ok. :coolsmiley:

I think Artis has more offensive instincts in him but Branch has better size and defense.

Agree with Moose here.  Branch looks like a very different style of PG than Artis. Artis looks a little more like Myles Mack style of PG who is a bit more offense-minded.   Branch much bigger and more classic PG.  both would work in our style of play, but we have our guy now.

I'm excited for Branch.  We have lockdown defenders 1-4 right now and the H&H boys are not slouches themselves.  It's going to be reallyf if we can add two more bodies to let these kids run for 40 minutes.

10 ppg, 4 apg, 3 rpg

Dom ihas the talent to develop into a fine college PG.  Weak  shooter right now (Sub 40 FGs, sub 70 FTs), and far too many turnovers (2.7 a game).  A  bit erratic, he was getting yanked at the end of games for the steadier but less talented Jonathan Lloyd (A junior).   But Dom's a frosh - he'll only get better.

However, he renigged on his verbal and then went whimpering off to to Oregon at the thought of having to compete for PG time with Kyle Anderson at UCLA, so I have a HUGE question on his heart and character.   Absolutely stupid - it's not like Kyle and Myles Mack didn't co-exist to a national high school championship.   So splitting time with Lloyd is kinda funny.

Anyway, Karma -  He went down with a bad foot the last 4 games, and his team has lost 3 straight.
