unfortunately it looks like there are no online options. I cant even find a box score for this game. Its a real sin that redstormsports is not putting this online as a live feed given the new st johns station or whatever it is is producing this

God's Gift has been unstoppable.  Granted, you have the note the competition but he's def more polished than Coker.

Nurideen Lindsay will be a big time scorer...

The score is 27-21 SJU with 9 minutes left in the first.

Our defense has been suspect, but man we have a lot of guys that look like they can score at a consistent pace.  Dom Pointer and Harkless already with a few monster dunks.  Phil Greene is quicker than I thought and DeAngelo Harrison hasn't really been involved much altho he just hit a three-pointer.

St. johns up 11 at the half.  Never realized Phil Greene was this good of an outside shooter...I think he has four three-pointers.  God's Gift has 16 points, 8-8 from the field.  Nurideen Lindsey is pretty much unguardable.

Mo Harkless picked up three early fouls, so barely played.

the offense for the first time in two decades looks like we can count on it...I realize it's just one half ..but still...very nice.
It's hard to imagine what three other top players would mean to this team...scary good.
defense is something else again.....the downside of a lot of newcomers/freshman
Man they all look so smooth and talented...what a pleasure to watch the athleticism and speed

Teams looks great. Then again, they better against a D II team.

A few thoughts (keep in mind it was D-II):

1) Phil Greene is good.  Man to think he was an afterthought.  Long arms and a better shooter then I thought.

2) Harkless is the goods.  Ron Artest clone.  Does everything well.

3) Forget the comparisons with Coker in terms of Achiuwa.  Kid is very athletic.

4) Love the up tempo pace, even with the short roster.

Phil Greene is a future NBAer.

Much rather have him running the point for us than Kyle Anderson next yr

Harkless is taller and a much better offensive player than Artest, and I love Artest...

Lotta fun tonight. I think the final score was 110 - 79.

Here's my assessment:

Overall, everyone plays within themselves. They all have good hands, a solid bball iq.
Everyone made the extra pass. Everyone got involved even if it wasn't immediately.

In the beginning, GG and Lindsey scored at will. However, for most of the first half we played defense with our hands down, and allowed CW to score at an even pace with us. Still by the half, we had built a 51-40 lead.

I don't know what Dunlop said to to them at halftime, but they came out for the 2nd half, aggressive, poised and savvy. All of new guys played well. And everyone played great team basketball. I don't recall one shot where I said to myself "what was that?"

The Players:

Harkless- he's really long, and very smart. First half he started off slow and picked up a couple of fouls. Second half, he was a beast. And in the first 4 minutes, he rebounded, passed, played d, and dropped 10 points. He knows where to be. I love his game.

GG- One thing I didn't expect was good hands, but he has them. They had no one body him up, but he scored at will all game. It was fun to watch. He'll need to work on that free throw stroke.

Lindsey- He can put it on the floor, drive strong and finish, or create offense for others. He's creative, and a real thrill to watch. Nice to have a guy with the ball in his hands who's tall enough to ride a roller coaster. He's going to be a great player for us.

Pointer- Bigger than I thought. Strong, and athletic. He can put it on the floor, he can board. And he can finish. Hard to tell if he'll be able to use the same game against bigger teams, but it really felt it was too easy for him.

Harrison- Nice stroke. Nice pull up. Good patience. Needs work on defense, but like everyone else, he came out after halftime on fire.

Greene- um, where did this guy come from? Reminds me of Toney Douglas. I think he took 4 three pointers and made them all. He has a handle, and he can distribute the ball. He's athletic. How was this kid not recruited by Illinois, or any of the other Big10 schools?

Stith- He stunk. More of the same.

Jealous I couldn't see the game!  I'm very happy to see the reports about  Greene.  I really thought it was puzzling he wasn't a top 50 kid.  He really reminded me of Ben Gordon at the same age.

Gift has two years of experience playing this caliber opponent and bette, but still nice to hear he's not a stiff.

St. John’s was missing its head coach and one of its assistants, but God was on their side.

God’sgift Achiuwa, a former JUCO star originally from Nigeria, was one of six players in double-figures with a team-best 21 points as new-look St. John’s beat Division 2 C.W. Post, 110-80, in an exhibition game at Carnesecca Arena.

Fans began chanting “God is on our side” during a first half in which Gift went 7-for-7 for 14 points, scoring on a variety of athletic moves near the basket.

“That really got me going because I believe in God so much,” Achiuwa said. “It was motivating.”
