Nice games by D'angelo and Gift.   Probably Moe's worst game we've seen.  9pts 5 boards.   4-11 from the field.  1-4 from 3pt.

Gotta let the leash of these kids Coach Dunlap.

Let them play man D 'stead of this awful zone that simply dont work.

And run, run, run on offense.

Play to win not to foul out.

Good call bre!

Great comeback.  The talent these kids have really comes through in the crunch. Just wish they were free to play a more aggressive game, but no bench apparently = soft zone defense for the first 30 minutes of each game.

Tell that to my wife who is currently not speaking to me due to "foul language and a broken dinner plate."

Great to see our FROSH coming together in crunch time, with confidence to take shots, tenacious D, and sealing it with freethrows.  Bigger challenges to come, but this is a nice victory for our guys.

Harrison is lost out there, zero confidence. Picks up his dribble, than looks around to pass it

Youre welcome fellas. This win is on Baldi

Forgive me but why we're we playing zone in this game? Why for a minute would we play zone against this team? Mike Dunlap has a nice assistant coach resume, but what was he thinking tonight?

Just back.  Any wins this year will be winning ugly.   That said as disappointing a "victory" as this was, I was glad to see what I hoped for from freshmen at the beginning of the season.  They are exciting (you need Rolaids to watch the lads) and they do not quit.  CA was like a morgue through out most of the game.  As much as folks complain about Dunlap, he did not stay with the game plan.  he switched to the zone press and man defense to get the team back in it.  he did a good job of constantly substituting the players to keep the energy level up.  Garrett addition was important in the process as it gave he two men substitutions.  It was also critical in stopping the game to set up the press.  he also did a good job in last 10 minutes of using the timeouts to rest the players.

I would have liked to see them use some fouls as they had 2 to give in the last half minute.

A win is a win and hopefully a comeback is a confidence builder.  Also the substitution patterns, press and man are going to be important as this team will have to win with defense.  this may be a take away for the coaches.

We did a great job tonight of allowing a D2 team to play the only game they could. I'm thoroughly disappointed in Dunlap. What was this tonight?

Have to agree.  Most other teams ran Texas out of the gym while running since they had a small and slow front line. Looks like coaches use first half to teach zone and second half to go man....crazy stuff! Harkless gets lost in the zone and becomes ineffective IMO. Then again, these are mostly freshmen and no PG to lead so most wins will be ugly.

Good win for the freshmen. They will struggle in Big East play, but i'm excited about this group of players. When they get some experience under their belt, put on some muscle, have a full roster who can push each other in practice to get better and spell one another during games....Watch out, this team is going to be fun to watch. Let's go easy on them when they don't play well, they are only freshmen. Get well soon Lav!
