Praise fo D'Angelo

I think because of Moe's historic game, D'Angelo's killer performance is getting a lil overshadowed.

No disrepct to Moe who deserve ALL the accolades, but it was D'Angelo who sparked the team right off the bat and set the tone for the game.

Love those two J's to start especially the dribble pullup at the FT line. At that point, PC start playin up on him and him being the smart, aggressive player he is, D'Angelo just took it to them.

I ask this: Are we gonna see a more MAN play than when a skinny 6'3" guard wit limited hops gets the ball in the high post, then drives against the bigs, initiates contact under the rim and finishes?

Parking only for NYCHA permit holders.

Said it from the beginning I love what this kid brings to the table.  Gonna go down as an all time fave Johnnie.

In some ways D'Angelo was more important than Moe in this game. He had some clutch buckets, especially at times when it looked like PC was going to make a run to get back in it. He got us out to that early lead and was the reason we went into the half with such a big lead. Moe is clearly our best player, but D'Angelo should not be overlooked as he played outstanding yesterday.

I think he found his comfort zone in these last 2 games. In his first several games, he looked like nerves were bothering him, he was rushing his shot, or taking bad ones. I think all the nerves are gone, and this is the D'Angelo we will see from here on out.

Prettiest move was the standstill pump fake and the effortless bank from 15'.

He played beautifully. Now we need to put the success of this game behind us and prepare for Uconn. They will most certainly be seeing the same defense we played last night.

Harrison is going to be a special 4 year player for us.  Wouldn't be surprised if climbs into top 5 all time scorer.

by the end of this year, he'll be the team leader.

D lo was great and agree with all of your observations except I don't think D is skinny, rather think of him as a well muscled guard right now.

Great game by D'angelo.   Best part of his stat line in my eyes?  How about: ZERO turnovers to 7 assists!

That's what we need from our guard play to be competitive in BE games.

He had a great box out in the first half where PC player got called over the back. D'Angelo was pumped about it. The guys are taking pride in the little things which is a positive step.

D'eangelo is just fearless. Kid has so much fire. I agree with who ever said he wasn't skinny. I wouldn't be surprised if the focus on the staff was to trim him up and get him more explosive for next year.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

He uses his bulk as a body lever to make sure he gets the shot off - and hopefully gets fouled.

I think you meant to say he uses his body to get the shot off. His "bulk" isn't there yet. But that's just my opinion.

D'Angelo certainly stepped forward, and starting the game off like he did was a great boost to the team.  I think he will be a pretty consistent scorer as he continues to play.  Was a bit off and on in the previous games but I think that it is/was a matter of him adjusting to the college game.  Would expect more ups than downs as time goes by.   I am very curious to see how he does against UCONN as they are (obviously) quite a bit better, deeper and longer than Providence.  I do love his heart, and I agree with you, desco80, 7 assists and 0 TO's is very impressive.  Of course shooting as well as he did was impressive as well.  Making those outside shots early gave him confidence (more confidence) and it opened up the floor a bit.

I think D'Angelo is a strong bodied guard. Some might call it bulk but he's definitely not skinny. He has tree trunk legs, he's a brick especially for a freshman. He's not Malik Boothe but he's not Paris Horne.

I think he has near perfect size for a college 2.  Interestingly they gave him a couple of stints at the point vs the Friars too.  He reminds me a little of Ben Gordon and if he keeps hitting the weights he might play at the next level too.  Most of all the guy is loaded with intangibles and really plays smart.  He's a leader and I think he'd be even a little more explosive if we were able to rest him a little more.  By next season he'll be one of the best 2s in the league and the sky's the limit from there on.  If Moe is one and done he's the man next year.  Now we've got to get Dom and Amir more involved in the offense just in case.

Not having Nuri around anymore seemed to be the catalyst for Harrison to be more aggressive offensively.  Nuri's departure may be the greatest thing to happen to this young class so far. 3-0 without him.  I hope he watched the Friar game and realizes how much fun his "brothers" were having out there, running, passing, dunking.  Oh well.
