Moe made is happen in 2011. Jamal started it in 2012 but next signee will prove to be most vital.

Haha, if he does know I doubt he can say anything.

If there is one thing I'm positive about is Dave has built up a lot of contacts over the last couple of years.

Amazing how perception changes on the boards in a few hours. I can't even go to sleep right now

The targets are clear. I'm not withholding top secret info. Sampson and Gathers are both in grasp (again). Things will play themselves out but when one commits all will be well for 2012.

For doom and gloom guys out there even if staff struck out on both things will still be well in 2012.

I thought Sampson tied the whole class together in terms of Lavin's vision for a long, freakishly athletic, and versatile team.

Obviously Dave knows something and is hinting at it.  Fwiw, Gathers just wrote off LSU and their fans on twitter after the football game.  Not sure they're are going to be a player for him much longer.  He said he'd never want to play football at LSU and that their fans are " fake AF"...  :)

Will either of those guys qualify academically tho?

If they can't qualify this time around, I doubt they will ever be CBB players.

This was great news, a fantastic way to start the day.

There have never been question marks with Gathers and academics. In fact he could have enrolled this past year if you recall.

IllWill - you are showing a real lack of understanding of the recruits the staff is going after. We were actually trying to get Gathers to consider coming to school this past Sept instead of waiting a year. As Moose said, his academics have never been an issue, nice try and a little dig though

Right again Moose. Schools like Duke are high on him and they do not go after academic risks. However, Obe and Karr are much better fits as they are longer and run like deers. Let us know what you think of Orlando since he has great hops and was a good player in world competition.

My guess is Obekpa is next to decide. Gathers and Sampson will probably decide closer to the late signing period. I would not be shocked if our next commit comes from a later class.

Wait......you guys mean the sky isn't falling?   :)

This place was nuts for months. What this staff had to do since getting the gig is a lot of work. I think we won't see this thing fully together to the 2013-2014 season.

Ted, correct and after this season, the staff is involved with so many talented players that they will start to pick and choose the best player to fill key roles. The days of mid-major talent are over. The foundation is laid. BTW, with SMU and Houston in the Big East, the Texas pipeline is now in place for kids that want to leave the lone star state and play in NYC in the Big East and know they will get to play in their home state also. SJ is a national player now!
