This game had a very different feel to it than some of our other lop-sided losses.   I don't want to say the effort wasn't there.... but even for us guys were standing around more than usual.

And we definitely looked a step slower than usual.   Hope were not hitting a wall.

I don't want to say its effort.  But confidence couldnt get lower.  Well maybe after Cuse and Duke it can.

Hate to say it but now is when the kids could really use a coach that oozes enthusiasm and who could convince the Washington Generals they have a chance of beating the Globtrotters.....

Let me just clarify... coach shouldn't rush back.  I don't mean to imply that.     It's just hard to not see how beaten-down the guys are getting.  Confidence is kind've his specialty, so in a perfect world Lavin's recovery would take a big turn for the better

I don't think so.   We're obviously not going anywhere this season... but an inspired team could take a lot more positive things from this season than one who goes into a tail spin.

It was a demoralizing loss, so sullen body language of our guys not so hard to understand.  There will be better days in the future and what these guys do together will mean even more because they have experienced losing like this.

Gene Keady would make a great interim coach. Just saying.

to Sum it up tonight the Redstorm offense and defense to a certain degree got Scalped :-\

Baldi, do you use the internet to inspire your version of Morton Downey, Jr. or Jerry Springer-like shows?  A bunch of drama with no fluff.  I'm sure there is also an amateur comedy night going on, one night out of the week, at one of the local comedy clubs in your area.  Give it a try.

Baldi... we look bad tonight and the guys had their heads down so now we're supposed to believe Bball's doom and gloom predictions of transfers?
I don't buy it.

Don't forget Moose and Marillac both said they heard from people who spoke to Lavin that he's "stoked" about the future of the program and the incoming recruiting class.   I think Beach Bum has said something similar to that effect as well.

For every rumor about coach returning to Cali, or half the roster transferring out, there are 2 that indicate things are moving in the right direction.

No question we looked flat.  Harrison was ice cold, and 1-7 from Pointer hurt.  BUT USF is a solid team.  We should we beat them with a full, balanced team, but we don't have such a team and won't until next year.  Lavin can come back tomorrow, and I don't think it will change the results all that much for the remainder of the season (it might add an extra win or two on pure, inspired effort, but we won't be world beaters this year no matter when Lav returns or what he does on the sideline).  IMO, we all need to relax and accept the fact that the kids are getting great experience and will be that much better for it next year.  I hate losing, but we shouldn't kill these kids with unfair expectations.

Good post. Pretty much sums it up for me.

There is a difference between predicting and hearing something especially right from the horses mouth.  In the words of Foad, Shirley you know that.

No kidding? So why did posters get on me when I posted over a month ago that Lavin wasn't coming back? And why was bball fan criticized when he said players told him they were unhappy. Were those predictions or out of the horses mouth?
