Not really.  What's the difference? Maybe Hicks can do something?  Maybe Keady can open his mouth? Is he even allowed?

Are you going into darkness mode on us, Moose?  LOL   It's common practice for one assistant to occasionally go on recruiting trips during the season, but it leaves us with two vacant coaching spots since Lavin is also gone.

@boo:  LOL   I believe Keady can open his mouth.

I've heard of that practice but I can on 1 hand count the amount of times Q missed games under Norm.

We are already one man down and our head man to boot.

Keady cannot coach the kids at all.

I mean.. it's not great, but if TC and Lavin missing this game means we'll land two BE level post players... then I can't complain ya know?

It would be nice to have a "players'" coach to offset Dunlap though.   Even if it's just Tony talking to them during warm-ups or on the plane.

Q missed several games during the six seasons he was on staff.  Unless, you have the hands of an octopus then you might run outta fingers.  lol

I pay pretty close attention at home games.  Maybe he missed road games but I don't remember many games and my seats face the bench or are right behind it.

Does Chiles ever get involved with the actual in-game coaching?  All I've seen him do is stand around outside the team.  Hicks and Hines seem to be more involved in the huddle with Dunlap.  As far as talking to players on the bench, Rico and Moe seem to be most involved.  I'm not demeaning Tony's coaching but it seems like he was hired as a recruiter primarily, so that's what he's doing.

As far as comparing his in-game appearances to Q; how'd Q do as a recruiter for us?

Norm didn't have Q recruit in season--he waited until every other school had eaten at the table and then scrapped the floor for left overs ;)

that's because he was a better coach and recruiter than Lavin.    ::)

Thanks I wanted to point this out. It happens often with every program during this evaluation period. It's just everyone having their microscope out on St. John's right now.

Good sign Chiles is out on the recruiting trail, no?  We'll all be pleased with the work Lav and Coach Chiles have out in shortly.

No! TC is doing what he was hired to do during high profile tourneys where at least 3 prospective recruits are playing. What difference would he make on the bench? Our starters play over 35 minutes and rarely sit. Rico Hinds is more active in-games even when Lav coaches.
Let me introduce you Mo Hicks and Gene Keady who the players should pay to be around.
Finally, come out of the darkness and resume posting like a true redmen.comer and stop drinking the poison here:)

I thought we were trying to teach these 'pups' as Dunlap said.  Only so much time in a time out to go around the huddle and correct the problems.  You are allowed 4 coaches (not counting Dobo).  Remember Keady cannot communicate with the players.  And Dobo's cant even attend practice I believe.  One coach down is fine.  Two is pushing it to me.

Where was Chiles yesterday?
