If he ends up a baseball player, that's fine with me. Still, it certainly seems like he's going to try and develop into a future pro in both sports. That's pretty cool IMOP. It's also a neat story for the school. When was the last time anyone cared about a St.John's player?
St. Johns shortshop Joe Panik was picked by the Giants in the first round of the MLB draft last year (and promptly hit .341 in half a season of A ball). So someone cared about him.
Amir is pretty raw as a baseball player. He has more of chance of playing pro baseball than hoops, but I dont see us losing him to full time baseball for long time, if ever.
