I have a new comparison. Reminds me of Terry Dehere a little. Dehere was bigger and more athletic but same type game. Anyone else see it? On another note, Harrisons shot was cleaner last night. Still brings it from the hip but his shot was less jerky. I think that the difference in speed and athleticism had him rushing his shot becuase he didn't feel he could create enough space. Even though he did not shoot a good percentage last night his shot look smoother. Maybe it  was a confidence thing.

All I know about Harrison is that if he stays healthy, he is going to put up sick numbers over his career. The way I look at this situation is that this is DLo's team for the next 3 years after this season. Lavin may and likely will bring in better players each year who will stay for a short while but Harrison will be the leader and always have the offense run through him. With his personality and desire to win, he is the right kid to build this team around.

Because his release is so quick, the fact he brings it from shoulder level doesn't really matter.

That comparison makes no sense. Starks was in a NBA dunk contest and posterized the best NBA player of all time. Harrison does not have that type of athleticism.

How about Jimmer?   What kind of numbers would he have put up in the BE as a freshman?

  Thoughts?  Jimmer and Harrison?

Jimmer is bigger and a better ball handler / passer. I think he winds up with a nice pro career if he can get away from Sacremento. Dehere and maybe a little Miles Simon would be my comparison.

Reddick

Jumper obviously more pure and he is taller which is why he is a productive pro player. Harrison might have better all around college game. That whole offense was catered to Reddick. Even though he was an all american, he is actually a better player now IMO.

Last night watching D'Angelo I was reminded of Gerry McNamara (Syracuse). OK. Harrison's not a point guard and he'll never come close to 6 assists a game - but - look at the unrelenting intensity, the will to win, the confidence in his shooting, the disgust with himself for the slightest mistake, the shooting streak when the team needs a sparkplug, the unbridled enthusiasm for his teammates' contributions. What do you think - could Harrison become our McNamara?

PG /SG aside that is a pretty good comparison. WASJU endorses this post

Anybdy notice that D was swinging on the baseline in the halfcourt offense for the corner shot?

Maybe Dunlap now has mo confidence in Phil being up top that he can afford to have D runnin the baseline.

Choz, doesn't DLo have a bette rchance to be effective as a PG, even if doing it to help out in spurts, because of his scoring threat from outside?  This can allow him to penetrate easier.

McNamara wasn't a point guard either. I agree. I see a lot of similarities in their games.

Staples didn't get to the rim like Harrison.

Like Starks he has a shooter's mentality and size and build (Starks was listed as 6'5" but was more like 6'3")are similiar as mentioned, Starks was better athlete.

For the reasons mentioned, I like the McNamara comparison.
