I've read or heard, maybe from this site, that Harrison ranks as the #2 FROSH scorer in the BE (or was it nation).  Moe is not too far behind.  I was just wondering what other FROSH are on the national list of leading FROSH scorers.  Where can I find and follow these stats?  Many thanks.

Go here:  http://www.ncaa.com/stats/basketball-men/d1/current/individual/136/p1

3.  Jaun'ya Green, Niagra, 16.9
4.  Tony Wroten, Washington, 16.5
5.  Tahj Tate, Delaware State, 16.5
6.  Moe Harkless, St. Johns, 15.6
7.  Ricky Tarrant, Tulane, 15.5
8.  BJ Young, Arkansas, 15.2
9.  Austin Rivers, Duke, 15.2
10.  Stephan Hicks, Cal State Northridge, 15.1
11.  Brad Beal, Florida, 14.5
12.  Trey Freeman, Cambell, 14.5
13.  Trey Burke, Michigan, 14.3
14.  Adam Smith, UNC Wilmington, 14.3

Thanks crgreen for the excellent breakdown.  Not that I care too much about individual accolades but I would love to see Harrison claim the FROSH scoring record for the season.  I see that list was updated on 2/23.  Vinales scored 21 today against Wagner.  Harrison had 15 against ND.  The list shows Vinales at 17.9 ave and Harrison at 17.1.  Central Conn. State played its last regular season game today.  We have 2 more.  Not sure if post-season counts, probably does.  Pretty tight race but Harrison would have to really light it up to take over the #1 spot.  I haven't done the math though.

Harrison would have to score about 31 pts a game to get to 18

Thanks for the math gman!  Well, I'll settle for #1 FROSH scorer in the BE then!

I don't know if the NCAA gives out national freshman of the year awards, but looking at that list ... I can tell you Rivers will win and Harrison or Harkless won't get a sniff.

The way Rivers has performed in clutch situations, well, he probably deserves it.  And while Moe is our "best" player, Harrison is the motor that drives the team.  I know not everyone will agree, but I'd say Harrison is our MVP this year.

May be the case. . .But, Moe was the best player on Rivers' home court when we played Duke

You need to be warned: This may have a heartbreaking ending.
Then again, it may have a heartwarming ending.
Can you have both in the same story? When you have two brothers who could not be closer if they were identical twins, you can have anything.
You can laugh and cry. You can wonder why some people step aside while others step up. You can wonder why one brother possesses a great first step and the other allegedly took the worst of missteps.

Finales plays for Central Conmecticut...not the same thing.  Harrison has played against 11 top 25 schools, all of which were geared up to stop him.

I have no idea how they won 3 in a row after losing by 30 to Seton Hall in what was most likely the Worse loss any of our players ever suffered.

It's Kyle Vinales with a V, which is even less the same thing. Vinales plays on a team with three players averaging around 20 points a game. Two of them are seniors. Harrison plays on a team where he's one of two players who can score, where he's the only one who can shoot, and where he's the only option when there's less than 15 seconds on the shot clock. He scores a lot because he's the only one who can, nearly. That all 11 top 25 teams were geared to stop him is a figment of your increasingly fertile imagination.

Harrison is a nice player and with the 3 point shot may well be the ATLS before he leaves, if he stays four. Chris Mullin, as has been ludicrously suggested elsewhere, he's not. All I can figure is that SJ hasn't had a great player in so long that no one remembers what one looks like.

This list is silly. It doesn't make Vinales better than Harrison because he averages more points.
Just like it doesn't make Harrison better than Beal because he averages more points.

At the end of the day, it's hard to recognize greatness on a team that's 13-16. If your record didn't count
then Darryl Hill was great too.

I know the following thought is getting a little too ahead of ourselves, but if D'Angelo works his tail off in the offseason (a pretty safe assumption), and comes back next year a stronger and more accurate SG, and averages around 20 ppg next year while shooting over 40%, I would be surprised if he DIDN'T enter the lottery.  If that happens, and assuming Mo is gone after next year too, then next year is a really important year for the program, especially if our 2012 class is light on high level talent, as 2013-14 team will need a few freshman/JUCO transfers to step up big-time and fill the void left by the H&H boys.  I don't think, however, that 2013-14 will be as bad as this season from a rebuilding standpoint because presumably we will have Dom, Phil, Amir and J. Branch still playing.

Not to mention the impact of sending two players to the NBA would have on our program.

We have all watched these kids play.  Effort, Talent and maturity are clearly evident.  Even if we don't sign another prospect (highly doubtful), this team will be much improved next year.   Lots of negativity on these boards, appreciate what we have.  I for one love watching these kids play.

LETS GO SJU!

So we'd be better off kicking our two best players out the door so we can say we sent 2 kids to the NBA ? I know you don't mean that but why even speculate about it. Let these things play out over time. Right now let's concentrate on beating Pitt WITH THOSE TWO PLAYERS.
