I don't mind losing by 30...
« on: February 14, 2012, 09:12:05 PM »
but I want to go down with Harrison shooting.  It pisses me off to no end that he just stands there and nobody does a thing to free him up.  If you are down 20..what is the harm in running him off a double-screen when they are in man.  Did you see that kid stick him in the corn in the 2-3?  He was a marked man.  Why not run Moe over there if they are going to play him that far out in a zone...overload that side.  Horrible game.  At least get my guy some shots.  We will lose every game if that kid isn't scoring 20+.

I feel you we were very flat today and didn't show the fight we are accustomed to seeing. Not sure if it was fatigue from Sunday or what but this was unacceptable. They better be ready to play against UCLA

Sounds like you're calling out the coach.

Harkless needs be more aggressive, that's a nice way of saying he's soft right now. But he's not the kind to be setting screens, GG and Pointer are.

No worries. According to most posters on our boards we will be winning these games by 30 next year. ???

Of course we will. Dunlap has two Division 3 national championships.

Should be better but not ready to put them in sweet 16 like some others. Probably struggle to make the big dance. Hard to really predict right now with all the unknowns (recruits, returnees).

I love the posters who kill this program while we start 6 first year guys.  Branch, 2 serviceable big men and a shooter with our top notch staff will shock all of you.  Cannot wait for the next two seasons.

Neither can I.  And I cannot wait until we start beating up again on these teams that have enjoyed our misfortune this year.

We have 7 players 5 who are freshman and people are mad that we are losing? Seriously

It's actually comical that posters don't understand this.

+1.  With 6 scholarship kids they have no competition in practice.  When you don't have competition in practice, its a culture shock when you get to games, and theres nothing a coaching staff can really do about that.

I don't mind they're losing but 30 to Seton Hall is a little much, even if it's five freshmen.

Dan they almost beat a duke team who many think can win a national championship and lost to a team from Texas who I can't even remember their name. They could lose to Norte dame by 50 or beat Kansas this is a young team with wholes. They looked tired and aggravated today. 2 teammates quit on them others jumped ship. I got their backs I'm not gonna question a lost as long as they play hard.

They are freshmen.  Like KOB said above they can lose by 50 to ND or beat Kansas...you never know with freshmen.  I think we are a Sweet 16 team next season.  Nothing in college basketball is more valuable than experience and, damn, will this group be experienced next season when the reinforcements come.

We have five freshmen starting, three out of position.

I just want my guy taking shots.  He's a weapon and we were getting torched.  The ball has to touch his hands every possession with him in a position to score.  I'd like to see some more inside-out to him.  Get the ball to Harkless on the post and make the defender choose his poison..they can't have it both ways.  If they overplay Harrison on the perimeter he cuts hard to the basket for the dish from Moe.

I'd rather 3'Angelo take a shot 8 feet from the NBA line than any other player on this squad take an open three with feet set.

Texas A&M. One of the worst teams of the Big 12.

We are 0-10 against ranked teams. To say that we can beat #5 Kansas is too optimistic.
