So much for keeping the local kids in NY

This discussion always pops up when a NY'er picks another school.
Do you want a roster littered with NY players?

Personally I just want the best player in NY.
Correct Moose.   As most of us have waxed eloquent about the dearth of bball talent in the Metro NYC area the past decade+, it's only wise to focus on the best to top 5 or so players in NY.  At the end of the day, L and assts have to make inroads in areas where they're not necessarily fully plugged in.   We've seen some laid out already, but at the end of the day, Coach Lavin needs to convince the top players in the WORLD to have a compelling reason to come to play at SJ's.

And as the board has thrown around ad infinitum, in looking at pluses/minuses of playing at SJ's, the biggest pull imo is getting players to buy in to playing in NYC.   So I'm in on draw far and wide method.  I'm sure the staff will keep up the wide open, fluid approach and get the best players for NYC.   From the beginning of Rysheed's recruitment, before SJ's was totally hot and heavy, and MD was far into it, I believed SJ"s was a really good fit for his background and personality.  Of course it turned out to be a great fit, and in the future, the staff needs to continue connecting on guys like RJ that will shine brightest in MSG.

Carrington would be a good fit for here, mind you, but is he a piece that fits this class?  I'm not so sure yet.  But I simply would like the staff to keep up the confidence play and go for the 4 star, borderline 5 star guys, and continue building the program back up.  I could care less where they're from.

Either way its good for Hall. Better than what they have been bringing in under Willard. And as a lot of people say he's a pretty good coach but a subpar recruiter. Glad he brought in some asst coaches to help him nab some decent players. Now we just need DePaul to get some players on board and the league could be 10 deep.

Will be lots of playing time for him and Delgado.  Probably a big draw for both.  He wouldn't have received playing time here right away, and possibly longer than that from what others seem to say.

Think of Isaiah Lewis.  Kid's game went from lots of hype to begging for high major offers.

Lol.... Lavin must be shaking in his white sneakers..  Let's not forget about the guy waiting to receive Bob's check for season tickets either.  Both will have trouble sleeping this evening

Good for them. I know the Hall has a lot of disadvantages, but they are still big enough that they shouldn't have to go to the Canary Islands for all their players.

Hall has had a few things break their way this summer (Northwestern coach fired), and they have benefited from the downfall of Mike Rice.

Would be good for the conference if they could become respectable

Was the staff seriously pursuing him? If so it's getting pretty bad if SH is beating us out on recruits.

It will be interesting to see what kind of players guys like Carrington and Severe become at the college level. After the 14-15 season, we'll have Jordan, Balamou, Jones, Hooper, Obekpa, and Sampson. I don't think there is anything to worry about.

It certainly would be good for the conference, but we won't learn anything until conference play regarding them. They had a great pre season last year loading up on cup cakes. In January, the party was over.

They are picking up solid kids though, which is a good thing.  Willard got wise and hired some recruiters.  Now he has legit players coming in.  The Big East needs this and I'm happy to see them finally landing some decent talent.  We are all against the big BCS conferences.  Having a good Seton Hall team wild be a great add for our conference, for our rivalry and metro area college ball.

Fred Hill is no help to the Hall; the guy is poison and a bad guy

Doesn't sound like we had any interest. Why are people fretting over this kid going to the hall?
