I really hope Lavin gets his guys.  Doesn't look like any postseason play at all, barring a BET run which seems unlikely.

I wouldn't switch places with Rutgers going forward.  We were the more talented squad, but lack of boxing out and FTs killed us.  Hope the team is fired up for the BET

Come on, we are feisty, but going nowhere in tourney. Fast forward to next year.

wish we won. i could see us getting to the qtr finals if we had the 11th seed. a lot tougher as the 12 seed.

Terrible shot.  Terrible loss.  We should have won this by 10+.  Bummer to end the season this way.

We've had a 1,000 "terrible lossses" over the past decade.  We're full of exuses, but the one thing we're not full of is having much success.

I'm so use to losing now that I expect it.  All this team mostly does is lose and fail.

Next year will be telling...They have to make some significant progress.  Excuses were fine for this year, not next.

Team is running on fumes yo.
They worn down.

I agree Choz.  Tough to play with only 6 guys.

No one will complain about less minutes next year--need help to have that extra energy and hops at the end of games

Does it really matter whether we're an 11 seed or 12?  This team stinks AGAIN, but than again what's new.

We lost to both locals this season (Seton Hall & Rutgers), that should sure help recruiting going forward, and he last I checked they had new head coaches too and they both had better seasons with young teams too. :(

Lose, lose, lose, we're great at losing...

This basketball program cannot sustain ANYTHING positive for very long.  All they consistently do for the most part is fail.

Doesn't anyone know why we used that timeout at that time was it because RU could not set up the D? & The TO before that is that seriously the play they drew up? I am not really a huge Dunlap fan of his offensive schemes not too much better than Norm IMO.
Attack basketball, pressure defense, 40 minutes of hell ... Early on it might be 30 minutes of hell, then 10 minutes of what the hell are you doing?"

Where were you the whole game?  You only came out once they lost.  Go back under your rock.

After this season, and with the current recruiting class looking very underwhelming right now, I'm sure not looking forward to next season which could be nearing Lavin last at St. John's if he doesn't start turning things around next season for the better.  EX:  St. John's better at least make the NIT next year otherwise I think Lavin is on his way out.  What another BRUTAL season for St. John's IN EVERY WAY both on and off the baketball court.

We have far too many dreamers on this board who continuously defend losing, failing and underachieving.

Glad I can vent since my wife doesn't understand.  Harrison, despite the 3 from 6 feet behind the three-point line, seemed flat.  Looked like he hadn't slept the night before.  And Harkless, well if he intends to play in the NBA he should be able to create and score against Rutgers at will.  We couldn't make our freethrows.  Anyway, I enjoyed this team this season, my expectations managed right out of the gate, and I have high hopes for next year if Lavin can bring in some key reinforcements.  If anyone thinks this has been a lost season or disappointing season they don't appreciate that we play in the BE and that PT & experience are crucial.

Like others, I would have preferred a shot at Villanova in the BE tourney.  But as a gauge for growth, and an interesting look into Dunlap's coaching ability, we'll be able to see how we rebound against a team that just blew us out.  Ever the SJU fan, I'll say Pitt should be nervous.

You're a f'ing clown.  Make a promise, when Lavin has this rollin', and he will bank on it, you will never ever post again and as gman says you will crawl back under your rock from whence you came.

Tied the sheets together again and lowered yourself out of the Belvue window?

In all seriousness, why is Rojo/Buki allowed to post here?  He's basically Scotch, but a bit crazier and 100% negative.  In the words of the great philosopher Hank Hill, that boy ain't right.

How has this guy not be banned as a troll? It's amazing.

Then don't look forward to next season.  Go away.  Who cares what you think?  Unless you are advocating a coaching change that is not going to happen anyway your posting is useless and makes no sense.  You are not a fan.  You are jerkoff.

"Oh gee whiz this is brutal  and next season does not look good let me go on Johnny Jungle to complain about 6 newcomers picked to finish 12th in the BE and then finish exactly in that spot despite losing their coach for the entire season so I can look like an ass and claim I am a fan accomplishing absolutely nothing."

Does that cover your posts?

Lapchick 1 you are too negative.  Losing sucks, I know, but we've had young talent getting experience here.  We've got to support out guys.  Lavin won't be on his way out either, he has done a fantastic job recruiting and is recovering from major, and life threatening, surgery.

And SJU a disappointment off the court?  I beg to differ.  Our university is stronger and more respected than ever in its history.
