Recruiting Boards
« on: March 05, 2012, 12:43:40 PM »
I visit this site pretty much on a daily basis.  I am interested in the status of the kids we are recruiting.  However, every post seems to turn into something having nothing to do with the actual player.  It is turning into a farce.  I know I don't run the site but I cannot be the only one who feels this way.  Is there anyway you can move the threads that are discussions about things others than the player.
Thanks,
MC

Thanks for your opinion. I do my best to keep things on topic in the recruiting threads.  If you see a thread go off topic and are concerned shoot me a PM.  I just moved all the Bill Self talk out of the Jakarr thread and into the college sports board.  All mods try to read and keep all threads on topic but we are all busy guys so if you guys see something bring it to our attention by sending us a PM.

A farce?  Bit dramatic if you ask me.  As a mod on another board its a pain in the tuckus to keep 'every' thread on topic.  If something worthwhile is posted it will continue to be talked about otherwise its pretty safe to assume the status is quo and there isnt anything new and the inmates are just chatting it up about whatever.

COach is setting very high expectations:

@NYCHoops: Just spoke to St. John's coach Steve Lavin. "Very excited about our recruiting class. Probably the best yet," he said. #stjbb

Good to hear, but strange the only top 50 recruits we're involved with are Sampson and Obekpa and there aren't too many in 2012 unsigned. So, I'm not sure what Lavin has up his sleeve.

IF the above post becomes a fact, then we have all been missing some really big developments in Lav's recruiting efforts and the actual opportunities that presently exist among the recruits (at least I have).

No question about it.   Honestly it's kind've funny that most of us fans were beginning to lower our expectations, but Lavin's comments seem to set the bar higher and higher.

I won't say he'll have egg on his face if it doesn't happen... because we all know the trying circumstances he's been working under this year.   But he is going out on a limb a little when he says things like "our best yet".

Hope it's true!   Lav definitely has a way of keeping things exciting that's for sure.
