Got his release from Harvard. Supposed to be a great shooter and played at Brewster with Jakarr. Anyone think we are involved?

Definitely

Would he be willing to walk-on.  I would take him either way.

Could be interested in St. John's. He is a very good shooter with some size to him.

Were we involved with him early in his recruitment? I though we may have but can't quite remember. He played at Mater Dei before Brewster so the guy has played against some real talent.

Let's reember he played with Moe and Karr at IS8 for Nate Blue. Kid would be a great addition to St Johns. My guess though that he ends up in the WCC.

No he was committed to Harvard early so there was no contact made. Only rumors of interest when JaKarr committed to St. John's because Hooper was his roommate at Brewster and was a shooter St. John's sorely needed.

I'd expect coaching staff to reach out for the first time soon to him to set up a visit.

Here is one of the longest highlite videos ever. 8 minutes of mostly him draining 3s. Great looking shot.

Harvard has a bunch of Max Hooper's. Funny this is the one type of player who can get more run at a higher D1 school.

I realize that his video is a "highlight" video, but wow.  I do like his size and his willingness to go inside when necessary.  I do hope Coach talks to Max.

He played in just 1 game all year.  I don't know the eligibility rules but can Ivy to regular conference playing only 2 minutes in one game all year get him eligible immediately?

not at all athletic.  but i'd take him in a heart beat as our 3-point specialist.

Is it possible that he was off the team in Dec and we just didn't hear anything or he asked for a redshirt?

I hate hearing if someone is athletic.  There are plenty of players still playing this week who are not athletic.

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe he would be a mid year eligible transfer.

athleticism is part of Lav's recruiting strategy right? so anyone that doesn't necessarily fit that mold isn't part of that strategy. but i like i said, not at all athletic but i'd take him.

I don't think it matters.  If you played 1 second you have been deemed to have played that year unless you suffered a serious injury.  In that case the rule is as long as you have not played in more then 1/3 of your games you can use that season as a redshirt.

Bottom line is I think he would have to sit a year.

Absolutely deadly from 3. I got to see him play several times at high school and when spotted up he will not miss. If Hall & Morris dont come this year then I would definitely want him.
