Bobre's point shouldn't be dismissed.   It is late in the game.  And we don't have a big on the roster other than Gift.

I don't think that's complaining.  It's concern.   And we should be concerned.   Again, we'll probably know a lot more in a week.

Every point Bobre makes should be dismissed  :)

He is the same guy who complained days and posts on end saying we should have landed a point guard because there were so many out there. But when pressed numerous times could not provide one single name.

Anyone with Google and curiosity can find out who's available.  I'm also the same guy who said Moe was leaving early on.  We've needed bigs since then and I can't see how we've whiffed so many times since.  Then again I never thought I'd see a New York based BE team play with six kids.  But everything's just hunky dory..Right?

So whats wrong with your computer back then?  How come you never googled and gave names you were so certain of?  I know this question will never be answered so carry on!

Hey, let's get real here.  If Norm Roberts had survived somehow and presided over a 13 win, six player season he'd have more arrows in him than Custer at Little Big Horn.  Then if his best guy left and he had no bige at this late date he'd look like the guy from Hellraiser.  Lavin is still being adored and glorified instead.  Sorry I don't share your man crush over Steve.  I just want my team straightened out.  Any truth to the rumors that you were spotted up in the sky box this year?  Just asking.

Um no I wasn't in the sky box.  My man crush has nothing to do with common sense which is something you have lacked since the first time I read a post of yours in the fall of 2000.  I have issues with things the staff has done or does.  They are not perfect.  I have better things to do then b and moan at everything that involves this program and talking backwards like you do.  I'm done back and forthing with you.  You continue to speak of mystery point guards, talk about how we need diamonds in the rough, then complain when he sign a guy that isn't ranked in the Top 150.

That would be because Norm never had the success that Lavin had. He's signed 2 #1 classes at UCLA and a top class last year. This man has a history of delivering and even though i'm concerned i'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt until he proves me wrong

Let's remember that Norm and Steve were both fired from their last jobs.  In this business it's what have you done lately.  I guess you overlooked last season.  That's fine and we know all the reasons etc.  I'm just concerned about the coming season.  We were told wait till April and May is right around the corner.  My feeling is that if you're a St Johns fan you've got to be concerned at this point.  Isn't expressing that what the website is for? I'll gladly eat my words when the good news comes in and Moose can dump all he wants too.  I know he's mad but he finally admitted the staff isn't perfect and I consider that progress.

I know we're through and all but for the record I've never griped because a kid isn't in the top 150.  I'm not a big rankings guy and always wait to see how kids perform before I say anything.  A lot of SJU kids have gone on to succeed after being jettisoned.  Remember Cjac and Evans? I was a big flag waver for them.

But that's just the thing.  Lots of folks, like myself, were curious enough to google and see who was available.  THERE WAS NO ONE.  Not one 3 star PG available on Scout by the summer.  We told you that over and over again and you chose to ignore it and talk out of your a$$ but present it as the gospel.

Moose, you've been saying for weeks that we'll bring in a center.    Sounds like you know of a Chandler back up plan ....
And I don't mean Nolan because I think he's 2013.

Yes boring night, watching Mets get lit up. Even if there is a backup plan to Chandler, is that player better than Gift? Dont think we go small? You think Amir off the bench?

I think Amir starts in any lineup.  I know he's missing the summer but he showed me a lot of athleticism and a high basketball iq as they say.  Gotta start him.
And I mean, if the staff didn't think gift should start last year I can't see them starting him next season just because we have jakaar and not moe.   Moe's probably better, but he's no more of a center than jakaar is.

My guess if Chandler doesn't make it there will be somebody else to fill in at center, but well play small a lot of the time.... But with a lot more depth  8)

No idea who the backup plan is if chandler doesn't qualify.  But there's gotta be one.   Right?....

Bobre you have to admit though that at no time did Roberts ever have class like Lavin's last year.  He never brought in a Mo, a D-Lo, Sampson, etc....that is the reason for the different outlook, and that Lavin & Co. did far more with Norm's guys than Norm & Co. could.  I think everyone shares your concern about getting a legit center, so you are dead on with that.

If Sampson counts for Lavin, then Derwin Kitchen and a healthy Rob Thomas count for Norm. Unless they are in the court, you don't get any credit for the commitment.

Sanchez, Karr Garrett, Harrison and Greene

This is my startting 5 unless we land a big that demands a starting spot.

Front Court size would be 6"8, 6"8 and 6"7. All athletic and long. Moe was a true wing 2,3. Karr and Orlando are true 3,4 Forwards.

No doubt Steve did more than Norm with the players.  That's why Norm's gone.  It should be mentioned however that Hardy, Horne, DJ, and Evans are playing for pay and Mason, Brownlee and I believe Burrell are knocking on the door.  His problem was that neither of the Maliks were even close to that level and he couldn't figure out that Hardy belonged there despite the fact that half the guys on the board were calling for it.  Norm never listened though and had the creativity of a rock.  Mahoneyitis all the way. No PG and McLeod pigeon holed as backup center.
