I see that we are 6th in the Big East on Bovado at 50/1 odds. They have Louisville, Syracuse, Georgetown, Cincy and Pitt ahead of us.

Seems like people are high on our chances this season.

I said that I thought we'd finish top 6 this year.  Both Vegas predictions echo that.

That would have us T-7 (7-11) then with Marquette, Hall, Nova and Providence.

since bookies set the odds based on money bet, my guess is this based on a few of the posters being in Vegas, enjoying a few cocktails, then walking by the Sports Book and saying what the heck, I'll put down some money on the Redmen to win it all in 2012-13.  The courage of cocktails combined with willingness to bet on anything in Vegas makes for interesting outcomes.

STJ is a dangerous team because of the youth and talent.  Odds makers don't like the uncertainty...shows that they are thinking along the lines of most of our posters.  The rest of the country really doesn't look past us losing Mo (who they think was our leading scorer and best player) and the youth without realizing we played with six guys with no size last year.  We can be really good this year if the newbies catchon quick.

And we still do return 4 starters and our 6th man from last year which is overlooked.

WOW.  A lot of folks are going to lose a LOT of money on Kentucky based on that.

They have a terrific class, but it's not close to last years class.

And has anyone looked at what they have back?   Last year they won with a great rookie class, but their 2nd leading scorer was RETURNEE Doren Lamb.  Their 3rd leading Scorer was returne Terrence Jones.   Their 5th leading scorer was return Darius Miller.    Jones was their 3rd leading rebounder.   Miller their 2nd leading assist man.

This year they have ONE returnee who averaged more than 1 pt per game.  Kyle Wiljer who got 5.   They have NO ONE who got 2 rebs a game coming back.  No one who got even HALF an assist a game.

I know I'm in the majority that REALLY has questions about Nerlens Noel (based on the 3 full games I've seen him play) - I honestly see more Hassan Whitehead than I do Anthony Davis - but even if this years crop were to measure up to last years's  #1 and #2 lotto pick class, with this group of RETURNESS instead of Jones/Miller/Lamb, I don't see a chance in hell THAT group wins it all.....

I prefer to phrase that as we return 5 players who started at least 14 games last season  :)  For the life of me, I can't say for sure which player you're referring to as the 6th man! :)

Just got back from Vegas and was able to get 125/1 at the Luxor Sports Book. Should be enough to cover expenceces to the Final Four.
