God's Gift Eval

Very interesting analysis. I personally was frustrated by his bad hands and lack of interior D. Perhaps he was reluctant to bang due to lack of team depth. I hope he improves, but believe he will lose time to the new bigs, unless he gets off quickly.

His offense was not that bad, but he was manhandled in the BE on defense. If he worked on his d, he'll be in the rotation. We know he's hard working. So I'd say it's likely he'll improve.

He runs the court well but doesn't move his feet on defense.  Kinda Burrellike in that respect.  He'll have to step it up to get PT this season IMO.

Agree-he will have what he did not have last year, strong competition up front in practice will hopefully aid in his development and not worrying about fouls because of depth should help him be more aggessive on the boards.  if he works hard in practice, he will get minutes.

I saw Tyrone Grant at Carnesecca Arena several times. That's who's game I'd like Gift to learn from. Show some tape from the Umass SJU game in Nov 98. Watch for the up and under. Watch how he gets position. Gift does not box out. I think His biggest issues are a lack of experience. He rarely knew where the ball should be going next.
