At this point in the season. We are much better with Christian on the court than we are with Dom. Both offensively and defensively.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Big Chris picked up two fouls and sat a bit. Hopefully he avoids a third and helps secure interior.

Good first half.

Notes:
Defense looks great.
Boxing out was much better, but not perfect.
2nd real game in a row Amir looks much improved offensively from last year. Shot and finishing much better.
Jakarr looks much better finishing and driving today. Making better decisions also.
Phil looks more like Phil of last year then last game this game.
DLo was okay. Nothing close to what he can be though. Needs to stay focused.
Obekpa still changing shots. Guys just change their shots and shoot worse when he is in the game.
Chris Jones I still can't figure out why he was such a mystery recruit. Smart, good defender, athletic and can rebound some.
Felix has nice athleticism. Liked how he went after that offensive rebound.
Have to stay focused to win this game. They will adjust but our length, speed and athleticism should still overwhelm them.

Quick thoughts:

Jakarr is a pretty fair shot blocker in his own right, and he's got a really nice handle for a kid his size.

Christian Jones must be the early NCAA leader in deflections...has to have a dozen already in a game and a half. Love guys like that.

Love me some Three-Angelo, but his act is wearing thin already. Waaaaayyy too many forced shots, especially now that we have some options ( unlike last year). For somebody with his experience, the whole "I'm going to shoot an awful, 28 foot three to try to answer the other team's made three" thing should be over by now.

Charleston thankfully is a terrible offensive rebounding team. One shot and done.

Phil more aggressive and getting layup and floaters. Not settling so far like he did in the first half. 6 quick points this half.

Phil Greene doing a good job of attacking and finishing 44-28 STJ

Love the way Phil Greene has come out in the second half. Kid is quickly becoming a favorite.  Aggressive.  This isn't your mom and pops St .John's basketball.  These kids look to run every chance they get.  College version of D'antoni's offense except we play D.

Obekpa is so skilled at timing his blocks. Seldom leaves feet on fake. Even if he does not block shot, he alter its course.

Great move by DLo. if he just stays aggressive, he can dominate this team.

Scary to think of this team with Sanchez, Bourgault, and Branch in the mix.

Thats just natural ability and instincts. Its really impressive. He is starting to remind me of Serge Ibaka his rookie NBA year.

We just need to keep attacking. They cant match up with our athleticism.

Really appreciating Sampson's length, quickness and slashing. All the kids are so quick to recover on D.
