i really like that zone we played yesterday.  i think its going to come in handy over the next two games.  both murray st and baylor have excellent pgs.  that kid on baylor is lightning fast.  i wouldn't want to cover him man to man.  at least with the zone, the wings can jump out and contest...and if the guards blow by them, they would have to deal with obekpa and sampson (who is also doing a nice job contesting shots).

if we wind up playing baylor, we will have played against 3 of the top 12 PGs in the country in our first 4 games, according the CBS's terrible rankings.  isaiah canaan is #1 by the way.

I like it too, but they will need some time to really get to where they should be.  I'm not sure how effective it will be this weekend against top 25 caliber programs.

no doubt that these next two teams are very good.  but i think we have a legitimate shot to win this.  not to look past murray st, i saw austin play a little yesterday.  the kid is very tall.  and drilled a three pointer with ease.  but he didn't move very quickly down the floor.  i think obepka can beat him to the spot on both ends of the floor.  the point guard, on the other hand, he scares me.  but these are the games you gotta want if you're going to take the next step.  again, lavin is a proven big game coach.  our team will show up today.

I saw a little of it as well.   Their sg Heslip didn't have his shot going either.   But we know from  last year that kid can kill teams single-handedly

Johnnies are 2.5 point dogs right now.  Seems about right.  If they match the intensity they played with yesterday, they have a good shot.

What the hell has been going on in Colorado lately?   Their football team is disgusting, and their basketball team won the Pac10 last year and looks to be good again.
Strange world we live in.

Why would they highlight Dayton/BC when they both lost and not the 2 winners, St Johns and Murray State on ESPNU? The only game ESPNU is on 7:30 so there's enough time for the Johnnies game.

I'm guessing because not all the first round games were on ESPNu yesterday, and by putting the semifinal loser bracket on the U they guarantee every team got on real tv at least once.    Not too many coaches would signup for a tournament that they may not get exposure from.
Just a guess.

Still, it seems counter-intuitive to have the loser bracket on tv, and the winners only available online.

Colorado beat Baylor.

Baylor made it interesting there with Austin taking a good shot. This isn't a team to look past on though. Got to win this game to get to the final.

Colorado beat Baylor.

We now know the next two games will be difficult either way.

A loss to Murray St means a game against Baylor and a win means a game against Colorado.

You said it.  Need to take care of business against Murray St.  Otherwise, we are going to have to play an angry Baylor team for the consolation game.

Heslip looked off again today.

The ESPNU/ESPN3 split seems to be working in conjunction with the PR Tipoff. Half the first round games from Puerto Rico were on ESPNU and the other half on ESPN3 yesterday just like the Charleston Classic. Seems like ESPN had to do this to garuntee every team in both fields gets national TV exposure. Looks to be another half/half split for the semifinals.

I don't understand the TV or Tournament schedule.  Why would you have one semifinal in the afternoon followed by a loser bracket game followed by the other semi-final followed by the other loser bracket game?

Why not have both loser bracket games in the afternoon on ESPN3 and then have your two semi-final games in the evening on TV.  Makes little to no sense.  You want to highlight the games and teams that are playing with a chance to win the Championship.  Going into today there were only 4 teams still alive to win this: SJU, Murray St, Baylor and Colorado.

Doesn't make sense...why would a game vs Charleston be on TV but vs Murray State we are relegated to ESPN 3?

ESPN dropped the ball. Still, we will win 68-62. Bourgault's arrival inspires the team.
