Gotta sit out two years as I understand it since he signed an LOI with another Big East school, so not gonna happen.

I believe you are right...but I think a school can release him and also stipulate he not go to another Big East school.  Doubtful but possible.

Indiana is one of the premier jobs in the land.
Even with their salary, Marquette is a middle-of-the-pack Big East job.

It's a bogus rule, but even when released from a LOI the player cannot sign with another in-conference school. Absolutely terrible rule that hurts the player.

I think the school can give a full (the kid can go anywhere) release despite that rule.  Don't know how often that happens though.

crean is going to have to work to make indiana a top job again.  then again, the Big Ten is weak competition.  i can't believe marquette would give taylor the full unconditional release.  he's not coming here.  too bad, he's a fantastic player from what i've seen.

Does anyone really think Bob Hurley Sr. is sending a player to SJU with the current mess he sees here...

Bingo
With all the other options, why send a high-major player into this?
Monasch didn't see it.
This is a last resort.
