We will learn a lot about our Johnnies tomorrow. The only game this season IMO, where we simply didn't even show up was GTown. We owe it to ourselves to raise our level of play. The NCAAs are possible. Let's see what we're made of.

I just don't like the way we match up with them. Their size, structured offense, improved guard play, passing ability and Porter portend problems for us IMO. Hope I am wrong.

Well there's a lot to hang our hat on if we win it.  We just didn't even play last game.  It was a horror show.  They weren't as good as we were bad.  Then. They just sat on their lead as we toiled.  We need to show them different looks and a different team.  Their defense is very good.  We need to play top notch defense to rattle them.  If somehow we find a way to win at Georgetown tomorrow, we are going to be in by decent shape moving forward.  That said, chips are stacked against us in this one.  They are playing well.

I certainly think we still have a chance.  Need to make them work for points.  They will try to stifle our fast breaking.  We will need to score against them playing a mix of man and zone.

We've grown too much to play anywhere near as badly as we did the last time.  Georgetown has been inconsistent thus far. Unless they come out on fire, it should be a competitive game.  Hopefully we pull it out.

Looking at the box scores of the Georgetown game, and then our 5 wins.. two things jump out

1) They out rebounded us by 14

2) They went to the foul line more than us

Everything else is relatively similar.   But during our win streak we've been getting to the line a lot more than the opponent, and if we haven't won the rebounding battle, it's been relatively close.
In the first game Georgetown shot OK (43%), and we had a poor shooting day (35%), and we were especially bad from the line (6-16).   But ND and Seton Hall both shot better %s against us and we won, and last night we had a poor shooting night again (39%) but were able to win.

The big difference, the Hoyas killed us on the boards, and they went to the line 7 times more than us, an area where we've had a sizable advantage in our wins.

Parking only for NYCHA permit holders.

Gotta rebound and get points in transition .... in the half court it will be difficult to score against G-town without a low post threat.  They are going to pack the interior and shadow D-Lo (no surprise there).  Hopefully we can create some shots for D-Lo, Jakar does well with his midrange game, and we get enough from the rest of the guys on offense.

Porter is the key for them and probably hard for us to stop.  We must not let Starks score like the last game.  I don't think we can shoot worse than we did that morning in the Garden.  Hopefully we have a BIG chip on our shoulder after last year and this.  We average 5 points and 4 rebounds more per game.  We must GANG rebound and not get in foul trouble like last game.  This mountain is climbable.  D'angelo, the IVth and Lefty combined for 7 Points last game--not this time.

We owe them one, and I like Lavin in these make up games. We pull out a close, low scoring affair.

I think the Johnnies will defend them differently and with more effectiveness.

But the ball has to go in the hoop for Sampson and Harrison.

Let's hope it's not one of those games when the ball keeps popping out.

Slightly off topic, there was supposed to be a gamewatch at a place in Garden City called Mother's House. However, I heard something today that it was cancelled. Can anyone confirm this? If so, anybody know why?

As Much as I want us to beat them, This is a big game for the future C7.  It is a "network" game on CBS.  First and foremost, I hope for a great intense game, even going to OT; a buzzer beater win with both teams leaving it all on the court. (and hopefully it is us on top)  Got to show that the C& can provide great games.

Yes, I got an e-mail that it was cancelled. Didn't say why though.
