Unrelated to UConn, but good for DePaul!

At this point it should be free tickets for anyone willing to come.

From STJ Game Notes.

Just 4 road games????
Props to them for leading the BE in conf scoring with only 6-7 guys.  I'm jealous of that.

Scouting Connecticut
• Connecticut comes into Wednesday’s matchup at 15-5 and 5-3 in the BIG EAST, seventh in the conference. The Huskies are on a three-game win streak after taking two-straight overtime contests at Providence and against South Florida. The Huskies have played just four away games this season, with a 2-2 mark in those games. UConn has an RPI of 22, backed by the 19th toughest schedule in the nation.
• Statistically, the Huskies are the top scorers in the BIG EAST, notching a conference-best 72.0 points per game during league play. Connecticut has the fourth-best field goal percentage in the conference at .440 and is third from behind the arc at .355. Led by a strong backcourt, UConn is fourth in the conference  with 14.3 assists per game.
• Junior Shabazz Napier and junior Ryan Boatright comprise a potent backcourt combo that averages a combined 31.4 points per game. In conference play, Napier is second in the BIG EAST in scoring at 18.1 ppg and Boatright is sixth at 16.8 ppg. Both are willing passers as the duo is tied for eighth in the league with 4.5 assists each per game. In addition to Napier and Boatright, sophomore forward DeAndre Daniels and freshman guard Omar Calhoun have started all 20 contests for the Huskies, with each of the four averaging double-figure scoring.
• Kevin Ollie is in his first season as the head coach at UConn after serving as an assistant on Jim Calhoun’s staff for the past two seasons. A former Connecticut standout, Ollie twice led the Huskies to the BIG EAST Championship before a 13-year career in the NBA.

For the 'hassle' of 2 for 1 you can figure out how to get there ;)

They are the third best back court in the Big East IMO, which is saying something because I'll put Cuse's and Louisville's against pretty much any other back court in the country.

Boatright and Napier will get their's, but let's not let Calhoun or someone else have a career night. Too often the case with us.

St.John's can win if they play their most physical game of the year. If we foul Napier, make sure we don't tickle him.

Olander has hit double digits twice this year. I put it at 55% he reaches it again tonight.

 From Brandon Tierney's facebook...

While I personally feel that St. John's is a year away, there is no doubting the importance of tonight's showdown with old rival U Conn. It's been well over a decade, if ever, since the league has been this weak. Unlike years past, a .500 mark in the conference combined with the requisite 19-20 wins will not necessarily impress the room on "Selection Sunday" enough to punch a ticket to the Dance. With 'Cuse and L'ville looming back/back and no marquee wins on their resume, this is a "must-have" for the young Johnnies. Looking forward to seeing how they respond and how their top players match up with Napier, Boatright and Calhoun. The Huskies always travel well, so there should be plenty of juice on 33rd and 7th! -  BT
