Just predicted we will lose most of the remaining games and will finish below 500 in BE. Also said we haven't beaten anyone yet. Must have missed Cincy and ND games.

Can't stand that pompous windbag. That said, I wouldn't be shocked if his prediction came true.

I just love how he can make those predictions.  Because we know he hasnt watched 3 games in all of college hoops all year.  Once Football is over all of a sudden his college basketball knowledge magically appears like osmosis.

Was much more enjoyable with Russo. Now he just talks like he is an expert on subjects he clearly knows nothing about. I like Boomer and Carton much better. Hopefully he retires soon so they can take the drive time spot.

He's not going anywhere.  He should never talk college hoops or hockey.

Better shot of Russo coming back when his Sirius contract is up in a year.. Hopefully Mike's ego allows it.  It's a shame that those two couldn't realize what a great thing they had.  Sirius threw the bank at Russo though, I'd do the same.

He does not know basketball at all. And even the sports he does know like baseball and football he is so biased towards the Yankees and Giants that you can't really take him seriously.

I guess im in the minority when I say I dont mind listening to him. Yes hes pompous and arrogant, and doesnt let his listeners speak sometimes but I listen to him from time to time.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Hmmm, to do that we would have to go 2-6 at best. He may be right about that but but as he is an alumni of the school, I would hope he would be more optimistic.

Was infinitely better both with Russo, and before a lot of the online media really took off.

When Russo first left he openly talked about auditioning and eventually hiring another partner, or at least a side-kick.   That never came to happen and was a big mistake for him and the show.
Best name I heard mentioned at the time was Max Kellerman.   Would've made an excellent wingman.

What makes Mike so obnxious is he fails to recognize his good fortune.  He came a long at a time when sports talk was a bout to take off, and he was lucky enough to have been Brent's sidekick for awhile.   He lucked into his role at wfan, and the station became one of the most listened to in the country.    But he never acknowledges that he's lucky enough to talk about sports for a living.

Mike doesn't have any play by play skills, doesn't have the personality for tv, and from what I can tell... can't write for sh^t.     If WFAN had picked Gumbel, Jim Lampley or somebody else to host with Russo.... what exactly would Francesca do?     He'd probably be another bum at the otb and still running numbers in LB from what I've heard....

He also gave the topic the bums rush and did not allow the caller a give and take. Not a big fan of MF but believe he did this to protect his ratings (and if there is one thing fatso knows it's ratings) because he was afraid if those tuning in heard st j's basketball they would tune out. Sad truth is he is probably right as the masses would rather hear about the Mets 5th outfielder than college hoop talk. Only time st j's is relevant here is when we are having a great season and are a national story. Sad but unfortunately true.

No way he and Max would have worked...no way, no how.

Mike wanted Bill Simmons.  Bill, while a huge fan of Francesa,  wanted to explore his own thing, and has done a great job.

Mike and Max would have been a great listen and would have worked until they killed each other.

Kellerman's ego got him banished from ESPN. I think he's on the west coast somewhere, doing his boxing thing.  Mike would have hand waved Max during the audition.

I know it's surprising to hear - but I remember when it all happened that Max was one of the guys they talked about as a side kick.  Him and Carlin were the leaders until they decided to do the show solo.
I think Mike even talked about the possibility of Max on air.   There was a thing there for whatever reason... maybe Mike knew him personally and liked him.  I'm not sure what the connection was.

But I can totally understand why you think it wouldn't work Boo.   Mike working with someone who might be smarter than him ??  ;)   UNLIKELY hahaa
