South Florida Game - Player of the Game
« on: February 20, 2013, 10:12:43 PM »
Sampson gets my vote tonight, but it's worth noting Dom had a very solid, bounce-back, game
Maybe there's some truth to Fun's theory.

The only problem I had with Marco's dunk is that USF's coach was yelling to his team to back off and not foul.  The offensive play was unnecessary at that point.  I'm not sure the players realized it, so you can't really blame them.

I don't give a crap.  I'd keep dunking.  We don't have to hold back anything from these schools.  No courtesy necessary for the former big east.

Since I have to pick one, I give it to Jakarr but it is good when the choice is hard because many players contributed.  Several times, Jakarr flashed from the baseline to the free throw line, got the pass and took an open turn around jumper.  That play was available all night.  If he hadn't missed a few, he would have scored about 26.

They were also pressing.  If you press and there is what 50 seconds left and Marco is free you go for it.  Next possession we pulled on the brakes.

Dunk was awesome. If they had a problem they should have tried harder to stop it. South Florida embarrassed themselves on that play

They were fouling and hoisting up 3's until less than a minute to go so I had no problem with scoring when you are ahead of the field.

Sir Dom.  Stat stuffing evening enhanced even further by taking two charges.  Recovered nicely from forgetting to put his uniform on.

Very close between Harrison, Dom and Jakarr.  I gave the nod to Jakarr just because I think he hit some really timely baskets that helped keep USF at a safe distance.

It has got to be Sir Dom. Great all around game.

Me too, but I gave it to Dom because of his all around game.  He was playing the middle in our 2-3 most of the game and later in the 2nd when we went to man he had Rudd and all of a sudden he wasn't getting clear looks at the basket.

Yes, there usually is. And yet we're all continually surprised. It's like Groundhog Day, nearly.

Dom- when the game got down to 10 he had a huge hoop, then came down a grabbed a defensive rebound. Iced the win.
