Pretty much need to swarm Cotton and rebound.
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

Will be tough especially without D'Angelo, but I think we have some favorable matchups. With the exception of Cotton keep them on the perimeter and force them to shoot and pressure their ball handlers

Shouldn't they be forcing US to shoot and pressuring OUR ball handlers?

Council is also playing at a high level and will be tough to contain. Batts is one of the most improved players in BE. Tough, tough game in challenging environment. I also wonder how healthy Branch is.

One thing for sure, they and others will zone SJU to death.

If Branch is healthy then I think SJU has a shot.

We shoot 1-19 from 3. Sampson makes his first.

Someone said if Branch is healthy...BINGO! I really think that's the key. If he's healthy, Jakarr has a typical Jakarr game, Pointer keeps rebounding, Obekpa keeps blocking and rebounding, and Marco gets hot from 3, we can definitely still win. If Branch looks anywhere near how he did last game, we are in trouble and it can get ugly. It would really be great if Harrison could rally his teammates up (not sure if he's still going to be at the game or forced to be away from them) and show maturity. I remember when Pointer made 2 huge dunks against DePaul and Harrison was fouled out, he was the first one to run over to Pointer at the timeout and give him a slap on the back. We need to see that Harrison more. Anyway, we need to stop Cotton i.e. 15 pts or less. Losing Harrison clearly hurts, but it will be interesting to see what his absense will do, since he takes a TON of bad shots.

We can win if other players step up and take better high percentage open looks and pass the ball a lot. It almost reminds me of last year when Melo was out and the Knicks were doing great passing it around to other players in his absence. Hopefully we can do the same. Who knows, maybe without Harrison they forget Sampson is a huge threat, that Marco can get hot from 3, and that Branch is very effective (if healthy)...maybe they take us lightly.

I agree, but will add six dimes, 12 rebounds and five blocks.  And throw in a few elbows and shoves.

At the post game press conference he will dedicate the game ball to Bobby Orr and Dana O'neil for freeing his buddy Orlando.

I'll be in 117 in red StJ hat.  We'll see first had how the team responds.

PC students are on break.

Can it be worse than Cuse fans during a blow-out loss at MSG?  Maybe the Johnnies show up tomorrow night.

It's going to be important for Lavin to give Marco minutes. With D'lo gone for the rest of the year, St. John's really has no consistent shooters on the team. I'm hoping with more minutes, Marco might be able to find his stroke out there.

Teams often come out with a huge effort in the 1st game after losing their star player and than return to earth in subsequent contests.

Star suspensions - 64
Full stregnth       - 60
