I'm sure some of you could look this up, but this 40 point output @ ND was one of the lowest scoring outputs for StJ.  Do you know the last time that St John's scored less than 40 points?  Who was the head coach then?

I was really surprised it wasn't a Norm Robert's team.  You have to go back even further than that.

Didn't we lose a ridiculously low scoring game to Miami, their 1st year in the BE when Louie was coach 41-40 maybe?

Speaking of trivia...
did anyone on here win tickets to the Marquette game on twitter this morning?
I randomly saw a contest MSG was having on twitter this morning;  question was date, opponent, and score of St John's first game at MSG.
I answered a minute too late to win.   RF78 won.   My first thought was it's Real Fan.. but looking at the guy's profile a second time I don't think it was.

I wouldn't have known unless I happened to have an old media guide close bye.
Jan 19, 1931... SJU beat CCNY 17-9 in an exhibition game.

I've read several posters writing of a boycott.  Perhaps they will give you there tickets?

When Sealy was a senior we apparently played a terrible road game at Miami and scorer in the 30s. Glad I was unable to watch it. That's my guess.

That is probably the ugliest game I've ever seen St. John's play.

It was St. John's lowest point total since a 52-32 loss to Villanova in 1963, when Joe Lapchick was the coach.

I know it was a different time, but 32 points?

Pretty sure I remember Mahoney coaching that game and Shawnelle Scott was quoted as saying he never heard of Minnesota before the game.
