Horrible shot by Sampson and Greene.

It was Felix.  But good ole Mike Patrick said Sampson.

Yeah my bad, shouldn't take that guys word for it.

Marquette making impossible shots and we have zero offense. If we don't make the tourney next year I'm finished with this team. When a team becomes so negative and only gives you nice moments once every decade, it becomes detrimental.

Hate to see CO moving like that on D.  Less effective as a shot blocker

Oh well, but I can honestly say that was the first game I've actually enjoyed watching in a while.

I thought our guys played their hearts out even though we lost, still proud of how they fought

Why wait until next year?

Always amazes me when guys say they're finished with the team (and, yes, you're entitled to your opinions/feelings) but I love my team/ alma mater like they are one of my children. Can't give up on them no matter what.

Difference between rooting for a pro team v. rooting for St. John's

If they played that hard, and that passionate every game instead of pissing away games we would have a couple of more win easily. Nonetheless, great effort today. Bodes well for the future.

It's also extremely sad how people are giving up on them while they have such a bright future.

If all you want is a winner, root for Duke.

We played with effort but still shot awful as usual. Don't make your shades too rose-colored. This is a game we easily take with 1 more FT or 3 pointer which we shot like 7% from. After this game, I'm finished with the "Well maybe next time" or "I liked the effort in the loss". For next season, I better not hear that from you guys either. It becomes "NOW" and "I liked the effort in that WIN". Aren't you guys sick and tired of seeing other teams celebrate Big East regular season championships and tourney berths? This team has 1 more season to gain my attention and money as a fan. 1 more bad year puts Lavin on the hotseat and makes even more fans think they aren't worth the trouble.

So again, nice effort, but we still lost a game we should have won. Missed easy shots inside, still can't make a 3 pointer if the hoop was as big as the grand canyon, and still can't get over the hump in close games.

Like the team I see for next year if Harrison returns. I doubt we can get an equal replacement. Shooters, not slashers must be credo going further. Absence of shooting is just plain killing us. Btw, No Hooper references, not the answer.

Big difference between saying "the coach should go" and "I give up on this team"

The shot felt like the 1st round of the NIT when Memphis did the exact same thing at the buzzard to us...

You thought without Harrison and Pointer we would win today? Yeah we missed shots, yeah we didn't close the game, but we also were on the verge of getting run out of the building by the 2nd best team in the Big East and we battled back. That is satisfying to me. Winning is better, but I think you can honestly say we took a step forward today. Phil made shots, Branch had a real solid game. Nice contribution from Jones. These kids showed some heart today, and I wasn't sure they had this in them. But they responded. This is how we need to play next year, EVERY game.

That being said, of course I think we need Harrison if we want to lock up a tourney bid next year. But Harrison needs to get on board. If he doesn't we definitely need a late recruiting miracle to add a legit guard who can shoot the 3.
