What exactly has changed?
« on: March 15, 2013, 12:52:04 PM »
Norm got borderline Big East talent and didn't make the dance. Lavin gets the talent and we are still talking about the CBI. Not sure what's worse-not getting the players or getting the players and still stuck in the mud. Program is in the same shape it was 6 years ago

We're in the media a lot more. That's changed.

Ya for star players getting thrown off the team and taking swings on another teams senior night. Good pub

Not to sound like a 16yr old girl, but the biggest difference is the "drama".

More players leaving the program, being suspended, and questions of eligibility in 3 years than any of us ever could have predicted.

Lavin is a mix of Norm and Jarvis. All he needs to do now is pull his pants down in the locker room and we'll have the trifecta

Nothing has changed.  We're doomed.  Lavin is going to get fired and we'll hire Tim Cluess.

One difference between Norm and Lavin in year 4, (provided EVERYONE RETURNS) is that we'll be in position to make a jump towards the top of the conference, because we'll have experienced players.
When Norm had upperclassmen his teams were only marginally better.

Did any players improve from last year and during this year?

does anyone not think the program is still on a upward trajectory?

during the norm years, at no point did i think we were going to a be a contender.  i think, at worst, we are a legit tournament contender next year with a deep run not out of the question

yes - dom made huge strides and phil, although miscast in a lead guard role right now, also got better.  prior to suspension, d'angelo was statistically better, too.  amir went sideways and gift gets an incomplete.

im just as frustrated as the rest of you but the sky is not falling.

I think Dom and Phil both improved.    Amir may have regressed.    And I don't know what to make of D'angelo.   He was hot, he got ice cold, and then he was off the team.

if dom makes a similar leap next year, can he play some 2 for us?  obekpa sanchez sampson pointer on the floor at the same time would be really interesting

If those three continue to improve and we get a real season out of Branch we will have a real solid core.

I also have a feeling Christian Jones will improve dramatically into soph year.

We will be good next year.
