So, quick question;  the only preseason tournament we're playing in is the Barclays, and thats Nov-29th?
Nothing before that?  Puerto Rico, Maui, 2k, preseason NIT, the Atlantis thing?

Don't forget the "If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium" basketball tour.

Regarding our schedule, what about that Big East/SEC challenge? We probably don't get Florida but maybe we could draw Mizzou or Tennessee is supposed to be good next year along with Alabama.

There is no more Big East/SEC challenge.

Maybe the BE/acc challenge can be revisited? Anyone catch Boeheim's post game press conference?

He said the ACC will now have as many BE teams playing in it as ACC teams. He also basically said he will Coach next year. No doubt making Mike Hopkins night. Mike is getting to be the Conan of College BB, waiting in the wings...

Let's see: BC, Miami,VT, SYR, Pitt, L'ville,ND.. 7 TEAMS.

I never got excited about VT and Miami in the BE.  BC, was a loss as they were a original member and fit well. ND was a good league addition but, showed they are all about the $$$ by, bolting. L'ville and Marquette were BE additions in the last few years and while they added quality to the league, the natural league rivalry wasn't there yet. That will change for Marquette who may be one of the top teams in the league next year. Pitt was a loss. RUTGERS?   :coolsmiley: :coolsmiley:

RU has shown in the last week why they are bottom dwellers in BB AND, WON'T BE MISSED.

Mention has been made on this thread about a SJU bball tour in France and Italy this summer.  When Rysheed Jordan joins SJU on Thursday will he qualify for the trip?  It would be great to have him in competition right away.

You sound confident we do get him.

Yes, I'm confident.  If I were a potential "1-and-done" playing PG, I'd take my services to MSG and join the ride with a team loaded with experience at all the other positions, a coach like Lavin (the anti-Rice), and with all the buzz surrounding a new conference.  It would be impossible to create a better scenerio for Jordan than SJU.

So you think the new conference makes us more attractive to recruits?

Overall, next season, it's not a more competitive conference. We have MSG. That I hope will put us over the top.

Idk, they have Louisville which is obviously great, cinci, uconn, and temple will be good but not great. I think top to bottom we will be better. Only see the Hall and DePaul as being bottom feeders.

Providence and SJ are supposed to be better, but as always, so much depends on who suits up.

Was told over the weekend that next season the new league is going to have all the teams wear "throw back"  uniforms from the original Big East season.

Not sure how often they will be worn but its not going to be a one time thing.
