Happy St Patricks Day
« on: March 16, 2013, 07:59:34 PM »
Just had my corn beef and potatoes, sitting down on the couch with a Guinness to watch the Quiet Man...

Happy St Patty's Day everybody !     Be safe and merry tomorrow.

How many Cuse grads live in NYC?  It's really amazing how many there are.  Are they grads or just fans?

Last night I was at east end for a few minutes which is a cuse bar.  I have never seen any bar remotely that excited about an sju game. The place was packed and going nuts.

The school has 15k undergrad and 5k grad.  Not a HUGE school by any margin.  Are these people just from NY and fans since the Melo chip?

Did it resemble a grave yard tonight?

Happy st Patrick's day to you Desco. Enjoy that great movie!

Thanks 'Mase!

Gman, you live on ues or just visiting?
Because I know how you feel, there are idiots passed out all over 3rd ave tonight.
And I watched the SJU - Nova game at Johnny Foxes on Wednesday and my gf and I were the only people who even cared about the game.

Desco I live on the UES in the 90s. I used to live on 82 right by where you were. Just resigned a new lease. Next year my gf and I can come meet you for a game

Sounds good!  It's impossible to find SJU fans in our neighborhood, isn't it?
My gf and I probably aren't far from your old place, we're on 81st by 2nd.

It's impossible to find sju fans anywhere. I used to be across from the elementary school on 82. I was at the penrose on Friday night

Well the thread was about St Patrick's day which really ends up about drinking and after people drink they get hungry so that turns to food.

So really it's on the right thread this time

How is that place?  It's usually packed when I walk bye, haven't gone in yet.

Maher, Firenze any good?   Reasonable or off the charts $$ wise?

Nah not off the charts. Main courses in the low 20's to mid 20's. Pasta in the teens.

Once and a while they do groupon or living social deals which are real cheap for that place that includes wine.

It's a real good date place. Definitely not good for groups

It feels more West Village than upper east side which is great imo.  I have plenty of decent bars to jump into, but this is a nice bar on the upscale side.  Also made might night to learn they have a nice stock of pappy van winkle bourbon they don't put on the menu.

If neither of you have tried it, Pinnochio on 2nd ave is an awesome Italian joint with only about 12 tables.
