All kidding aside, we are a very flawed team that also doesn't play smart. Hope this can be corrected in off season, but just don't see how. Officiating was poor, but let's own up to rooting for a team with major deficiencies.

Agree in some ways, but even adding one talented wing forward like Sanchez could really, really help at both ends.  He's long and can do a lot of things.  We might have been in ncaa's this year if we hadn't benched D'Lo which makes it sooo important he's back.  We add another big guy like Gift inside, another real good shooter in Hooper, maybe if we are lucky Rysheed.  Couple at hopefully with improvement from existing team and we could be a bit better.

People forget that we are playing a very good UVA team today and that is without by FAR our best player in Harrison.  We have flaws and are still missing pieces for sure.

Agree on Sanchez, but college ball is a guards game and we need to put skilled one son the floor next year or we won't be much better Branch and Greene may improve, but to extent needed? Don't know. Critical also to Get D'Lo back or someone else with scoring ability.

100% agree.  I'm hoping for Jordan but I don't think we will end up bringing anybody else in if it's not him.  If Howland is gone, it is us or Temple most likely.  Best odds we can ask for.  Need a kid like Jordan badly.

Remember when people were talking about Branch being a one and done?

The kid has been awful since his injury

When did anyone ever indicate he'd be one and done? I don't think there was any rumors or thoughts of that.

Wasn't you Dave. I was looking through the recruiting posts the other day in either Jordan or Sina and there were a few posts about how we needed them because Branch will only be here for a year. Kind of funny actually.

I think your confusing it with people who feel Jordan might not be here long if he was to come.

Well, it was an interesting season.

My apologies if I got too negative during this game guys, but damn, it got frustrating.  The refs, us, just an ugly game.  And I skipped Palm Sunday mass for this.
Next season is a clean slate though, and we can only get better if all the key parts return.

Priority is getting Sanchez and Harrison back on the court. Jordan would be a major plus.

Even if he doesn't go to UCLA, I still feel like with our luck he will show loyalty and stay home at Temple. Some schools actually have very good recruits who...believe it or not, are loyal to their home town team. COUGH...Lawrence, McCollough, etc.

Trust me, look back. It's funny in hindsight.

Hope he really works on his game over the summer because something was definitely missing after his leg injury.

Do you think we're noticeably better as a team now than we were in November Moose?
Like I can say Obekpa gets better position to rebound, and Jakarr asserts himself more offensively.   But as a team?   I'm not so sure.

I think what surprises me most is we never had a game where "everyone clicked".   We're young, I think we all knew we'd be inconsistent.   But I think most of assumed we had a lot of talent, and on certain nights we'd look real good.
But it wasn't really and up and down season.   Just mediocre throughout.

Check out PPG after Harrison was suspended.  Tough to say were better when there is such a discrepancy in the games he was gone.  Playing walkons etc.  The season ended the day he was suspended and it seems like some players accepted that at varying points since the suspension.  Disheartening end the year.  Now for a spring/summer of uncertainty.  Can't wait!

We had some obstacles, like most teams. That said, IMO ,net of Jakarr and CO, the team did not get better. As I feared, once we lost Harrison, the season imploded. I have lost confidence in Lavin, but will judge him more fairly after next season. Enough hyperbole, get the job done next year Coach.

Yeah, I didn't go to church this morning.  Gotta make 5:00 mass.  It wasn't worth staying home.

I don't remember Branch being mentioned as one and done, but what's amusing is he was ranked just a spot or two behind Mclemore two years ago.   Ben then took an extra year, but still.

Wow, you're right.   59, 40, 67(in OT), 53, 63, 50.

"If Sampson and Harrison return, and with the addition of forward Orlando Sanchez, St. John's could be a Top 25 team next season. "

-Darcy

I think we only have a real chance as a top 25 if we get Jordan and keep Sampson and Harrison.

Pre-season top 25.  Gonna have to play hard to stay ranked.
