Tired of hearing about recruits. I want to win some games. Harkless was great, we won 13 games with him. Will be very disappointed if we go to tournament next year and lose harrsion, sampson, and Jordan to the pros.

Then root for Duke.  You'll feel better about yourself.   It's the nature of the game, if you have good players they are going to go pro and you have to start all over again.  I say that snarkily, but not with malevolence.      Hopefully next year we have a good run in the NCAAs and Lavin re-stocks with more top tier players for the following year.  Or maybe not.  We'll have to be patient and watch it play out.

I for one am looking forward to next season's play and the following year's recruiting class.  I am patient and am going to enjoy it.

Doubt seriously we lose Jordan to the pros after one year.  If he comes back, I doubt Harrison is gone (if he's leaving early, it will be now, not next year).   I do think Jakarr will be gone.  Right now our 2015 roster projects to have (on scholarship)...

PG:  Rysheed Jordan (SO), Jamal Branch (SR)
SG:  D'Angelo Harrison (SR), Phil Green (SR), Felix Balamou (JR)
SF:  Sir Dominic Pointer (SR), Max Hooper (JR)
PF:  Christian Jones (JR)
C:   Chris Obekpa (JR)

That team  will have a solid 9 man veteran core (8 if Harrison does leave).   But it is going to have to rely on freshman and JCs from the 2014 crop  (and maybe some D-1 tranfers as well) in the front court.  We are set at guard for the next 2 years.    We need bigs and true SFs.  But that's really just natural attrition of today's college hoops reality.

We will have some upperclassmen here too that should help the transition.

Absolutely right.   It makes it easier to lose a player to the pros (like Jakarr), if we have veterans like Dom and Phil coming back for their senior seasons.

The last two years we've seen talent that hasn't been here in a decade, but we haven't yet seen that talent as juniors and seniors.  We were lucky enough to see Moe as a freshmen, and then Jakarr this past season.
But down the road we're going to have some top 100 talent who will have been here for 4 years.    That's an exciting prospect.

Guys let's try to keep this on point.  Should be interesting reading who and where SJU is the next two weekends.

Let's get the facts straight... the players we are definitely losing are Gift and Sanchez. We will probably lose Sampson. Harrison is a maybe unless he has a monster season and/or somehow adds a few inches to his vertical.

What I see that nobody mentions is that we need to also focus on developing guys this off season. For instance, having Pointer work on his dribble and jumper, etc. If some of the guys like Jones, Greene and Pointer can step it up a notch then 2014 will be important, just not as crucial.

If you are tired of hearing about recruits, I have two questions/comments:

1.  Why do you read the boards in the off season when no games are being played?

2.  Thank god you are not a Kentucky fan. I'm sure you'd be miserable losing to robert morris in NIT an only hearing about the best recruiting class ever  right?

I think NY Lightning (Carrington), Expressions (Abu, Terrell), SCAN all in Los Angeles this weekend for the EYBL Session #1.

I believe you are correct.  Perhaps Lavin and co. can use his old house to stay in...LOL

?

Assume he means Hoop Group Pitt Event this month.

What does that have to do with 2014?

Thought he was alluding to 14 recruits consistent with recruiting contact period Fordham referenced. I give up. Let him tell us or not.

Yeah, I thought maybe that too - that some 2014 commit will be playing in Pitt, but why speak in codes Dave :)
