Whitehead's in Virginia as well as Mudiay correct?

Yes.  Whitehead joined the Playaz on their EYBL circuit.

On Friday, Session #2 of the Elite Youth Basketball League tipped-off.

Held at the Boo Williams Sports Complex in Hampton, Virginia, a pair of  New York City-based programs were in action, while a Brooklyn product competed with a New Jersey team.

New York Lightning improved to 3-2 overall following a 77-61 win over E1T1.

The team was led by newcomer, Mike Williams (Bishop Loughlin, 2014). Williams, who has played with The City during the AAU season, poured in a game-high 25 points in the win. The 6-1 scoring-guard shot 8-12 from the floor, including 7-7 from beyond the arc.

Forward Angel Delgado (Redemption Christian Academy, 2014) registered a double-double on the night, recording 11 points and 16 rebounds in the win.

Rising junior Jessie Govan (St. Mary’s, 2015) and Kahari Beaufort (East Hartford (CT), 2014) each added 10 points on Friday.

Team SCAN ousted Cali Supreme, 64-49, improving to 4-1 overall.

Sophomore Cheick Diallo (Our Savior New America, 2015) led the way with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Chris McCullough (Brewster Academy (NH), 2014) added 14 points and six rebounds in the win.

Junior Terry Larrier (Our Savior Lutheran, 2014) posted 10 points and seven rebounds for SCAN.

Isaiah Whitehead (Abraham Lincoln, 2014), a highly acclaimed rising senior, is playing with the New Jersey Playaz this weekend.

The 6-4 scoring-guard shot 5-10 from the floor, 3-5 from three-point distance and 4-7 from the charity-stripe en route to a 17-point performance as the Playaz fell to Mac Irvin Fire, 67-65.

“@trigonis30: UCLA, Washington, St. John's and Fresno State watching @Chimezie_Metu at Pangos Sweet 16”

Chimezie Metu
2015, Power forward, 6-8, 215-pounds, Lawndale (Calif.) High School, Earl Watson Pangos Elite
A mobile athlete with long arms, Metu showed flashes of a developing skill set. He is still very much a work in progress, but the potential is there and he plays with great energy for a big man. Metu is one of the more promising big men in the 2015 class.
California, Connecticut and Long Beach State have offered. Look for offers from UCLA and USC in the near future.

Is this Johnson related to the other two Johnsons from Mater Dei?

"He is still very much a work in progress, but the potential is there and he plays with great energy for a big man." I feel like this is the type of kid Lavin LOVES to hone in on. I'd be surprised if we don't hear more about him coming up...

Another 2016 target guard Leland Green from Redondo.

Ryan Silver says SJU took particular interest in him.

At what point do people stop questioning his recruiting?

He gets results just find it interesting that he hasn't been on the road with all these showcases going on. Guess it is a good sign that he trusts his assts

He has his method.  I don't think there's any need to question it unless it isn't working.  Maybe Lavin feels it is better for his assistants to be out analyzing talent at this phase?

Regardless of the results its fair for any fan of the team to wonder why he's not on the road.  One weekend off sure.  The 2nd weekend?  Regardless of if he trusts the assistants in evaluating talent these kids want to see the attention and love from the head coach.  They crave attention on that level.  Saying Steve Lavin is looking at you as opposed to Rico Hines is night and day.

I'm going to try to say this in the best way possible but Lavin isn't carrying around an STJ national championship.  So if someone wonders why he's not on the road back to back weekends its more than fair game.

He knows what he is doing.  He knows when to push and when to relax.

He also knows when and where to be seen.

Dino Trigonis at Pangos was tweeting with coach how he enjoyed seeing Darrick out in Long Beach.
