Johnnies to Cancun

St. John’s coach Norm Roberts should get huge kudos from his players for setting up a preseason exhibition trip to Cancun over Labor Day weekend that will provide the Red Storm, who open in the preseason NIT, a chance to get in 10 days of practice and some game experience. We think it’s great.

I don't care where they play.....I want them to play hard, smart and win some games. This could be Norm's last last stand and I am interested to see how the Team responds. We still need a big man who can help down low and take pressure off Burrell.

great idea for a young team...the more time playing together the better.

Any idea what teams they will be playing?
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

The Senor Frogs, Cambalaches, Coronavilles, and Coco Bongo
It may prove to be more difficult than our early season NEC schedule.
No truth to the rumor that Roberts is dubbing the trip, "Spring Break in September."

I suppose, if the team has any embarrassing off the court incident down there, it can provide a reason to fire Roberts under "reasonable cause."

The team needs extra practice, even if it looks like one of those 1992 US vs Angola kind of games.  And with this team, it won't look that good.  But kudos, they need practice.  And the coach needs to think about his rotations earlier than in game 5 like this past year.

Sound like a trip.
Though if you was just concentratin in ball, you would go to like some outpost in Yugoslavia or somewheres where they ball fo real and they aint no beaches or bars or fly girls to take yo mind off ball. Like Rocky 4.
