I think some of our guys had whispers from Mo Hicks and that obviously is no longer available.

This thread is so damned irresponsible.  It is so frustrating seeing grown men rumor mongering about a kid's life.  Mental masturbation.  Enjoy, guys.

When I saw the "Recent Posts" column filled with posts by Baldi, I figured that a formal announcement was made that Jordan is already gone, or something else negative happened.  As we all know, Baldi, the "St. John's fan" only posts when good things happen to Iona or bad things happen to St. John's.  He has been awful quiet of late, so maybe this Rysheed situation gets him going again (guess we will see how it plays out).

@StJohnsBBall: @SJUCoachLavin on Jordan: "It's been a tough stretch with his family health issues... Impressed with how he's been able to handle." #sjubb

@StJohnsBBall: @SJUCoachLavin on Jordan:"He was back to practice yesterday after the Christmas break and will be back with us for Columbia tom. " #sjubb

Has there been any information in regards to how Rysheed's mother is doing and, if better, if he has returned to the team?

We will probably learn more tomorrow during the pre-Columbia press conference.

Lavins style seems more to be not commenting

"rysheed will always be a part of the STJohns family. We wish him nothing but the best in the future"

Where is that quote from? or did you make it up?

From the near future

Great call there chief... we should call you Doc Emmett Brown from now on.

[sarcasm]Oh no, Lavin doesn't clearly say that Sheed will be back from and after the Columbia game.  Clearly Sheed is transferring after tomorrow's game.  Crap.[/sarcasm]

I think some of our guys had whispers from Mo Hicks and that obviously is no longer available.

There are several factors that have limited our information.  A couple of guys--including one coach--have been spoken to about being so free with information.  Then there have been some personnel changes both recently and stretching back a handful of years inside an outside the athletic department that have hurt the flow of inside info.

All Keady ever talked to me about was the Golden Girls, his hatred of Bobby Knight and  love of cheap scotch. He never gave me inside information. I am not sure he even had any. That explains why he never returns my calls anymore

With Felix being activated and Rysheed back, I'd be interested to see if those two play together on the court at the same time.  Those two can really get after in defensively.  Throw in Harrison for some offense with Dom and CO....that lineup should be able to lock teams up for stretches of the game.

I'd love to see a defensive unit out there of Sheed-Branch-Balamou-Pointer-Obekpa.  Matchup or zone press so Obekpa can stay back and guard the goal instead of getting pulled up like he was by Youngstown State.

I bet Coach Lavin and his assistants have been laughing at the ridiculous blog speculation the last few days and had just a tinge of relief when  Rysheed returned to practice.  NCAA's here we come!

I think the nature of transfers and college basketball has shifted where if anything goes down, some guys run.

I think Rysheed is stronger than your average kid, and seems very loyal to the program. He's had a rough start to his season, and I'm sure adjusting to college life has been tough for him. It's unfortunate we speculate so much, but that's the nature of the game these days. When the going get's tough, most kid's leave.

SJU has had our fair share of transfers the last few years, but I think that played more into how our team was so depleted from talent, Lavin had to take risks his first few years to get players in. We are no longer in that position and I think the quality/attitude of our student athletes will continue to get better each year. No more reaching for the Pelle's and Nuri's of the world, and more finding guys that fit the system, Lavin's style of coaching, and want to be here.

I think Rysheed comes out tomorrow and goes for 15 and 5, gets to the rim a lot, and shoots about 6-8 FT's.

How many players have left the team, and how many were any good?

It's now obvious the Felix being activated has more to do with lack of confidence in Hooper, Marco, and Jamal.

How good they are has no bearing on the APR.
