Jesse is a pretty good comparison actually.
And how old are you Moose? Jesse was a very good ball handler and passer. And he played very well on the Elite 8 and NCAA tourney team the following year. Terrible shooter, bad attitude and disastrous senior year make people forget that he was a good player on two NCAA teams.

I used Scott becuase like DR Sanchez he came in with great hype, showed flashes of an all around game but struggled.

Don't know about substance abuse but I do know he and Felipe hated each other.

Jessie was a better distributor.  His assists numbers for a guy his size were great.  Sanchez is better scorer, shooter and rebounder.  I really don't see that much of a similarity.
Doctor Sanchez 6.2 ppg 5.3 rbs 2.0 asst 50%
Reggie Jessie junior year 8.7 ppg 5.5 rebs 3.6 asst 51%

You picked his best year.  How convenient.

http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/reggie-jessie-1.html

I'll let the year play out and then we can pick Reggie's best year vs. Sanchez' only year.

He barely played his frosh season and everyone can attest he had a horrible senior year. Use his soph stats they are almost identical to Sanchez. For the record I like Sanchez game. I liked Jessie game until he senior year as well.

You sure have a funny way of showing you like someone :)

I compared him to two good players?
I really liked James Scott. And Jessie was a good player for us for 2 good years. Some of you are crazy! Boris Diaw? Guy was a rotation player for NBA playoff teams. I thought I helped you retire your pom poms? You can root for a player or team w/o blinders.

I have disliked four SJU players(their games)
Geno
Mase
Ingram
*Greene playing the point (but that is on Lavin)

Avery "three point" Patterson was not here long enough but if he would have played another season he would have been added.

Again not sure how comparing him to James Scott or Reggie Jessie Soph and Junior year is negative. It is only a negative if you are comparing him to a solid 11 year NBA veteran player.

Because Boris Diaw is on TV now and Reggie Jessie and James Scott are over a decade in the back of people's minds.   Fans can relate to Boris Diaw.  Nobody is saying he will have an 11 year career like Diaw.

You know what is funny about people on this board, they always think the current guys are better than the former guys. Maybe it is becuase when I was a kid through college when we were good but I might over value the older guys. But some on this board were saying last year that Sampson was better than Harkless and Harrison better than Hardy and that is recent?

I see flashes of Brownlee, but, man, after someone posted in this thread...Donald Emanuel might be the best comparison yet.  I know most will take it as a knock on Sanchez, but Emanuel did have some decent perimeter skills and was just as slow.

Sanchez 6'9 232 and Emanuel 6'8 230.  Similar stats--Emanuel ws 6 points, 3 boards in 19 mpg as a senior, 36% from three while Sanchez is 6 points 5 boards in 21 mpg and 29% from three.  Emanuel played for a tournament team.

Both float on the perimeter.

James Scott his Junior year. Shows flashes of being really good but disappears and is a non factor for large stretches of games. Scott after sitting out a year had a very good senior season. Sanchez obviously does not have that luxury so he has to figure it out much sooner.

Scott was a guard that couldn't shoot, and didn't pass. Sanchez is slow. He has some ability, but he plays like he's old man of 39, not a young man of 25 with an advantage. He couldn't do a thing on Sunday.

I knew it.  My very favorite evening consists of smoking a humongous blunt, watching an SJU game with the sound turned off and the double album "live/dead" on as a backdrop, all done while I'm eating an entire bucket of ribs and washing it down with a forty of OE.

I  too remember him totally stinking it up his senior year which swayed me against him.  But when I look at these stats they don't look so bad.  He really must have turned the ball over a lot.

Great complementary player but Jarvis never organized an offense.  The success the two years before was developed at Riverside, not by Fran or Jarvis.  Ron, Erik, Reggie, et al + Bootsy .

Sanchez is a passive player with really good skills. He gets out of control too often and takes to many threes but lets remember he didnt play any live action for over a year. I think he is as important as anyone, sans dlo, if we are to make a run this year.

Currently, he's averaging 6 ppg and 5 rpg.  Otherwise known as a complete non factor.

Let's talk about him when he actually contributes.
