Is San Fran any good?

They are 6-4, and we are 6-3. So, we're pretty close IMO. They have wins over Momtana, Vermont and Cleveland State. BUT their point guard, Dillon, I believe is his name might not be on the team anymore, and that's a huge blow IMO. He ran rings around us.

I understand its your opinion, but your logic really makes little sense. So since Kansas is 7-3 are they pretty close to them as well? or just as good as Michigan because they are 6-4? The team is starting to come together, no more nail bitters with teams we are clearly better than. I think we win by 20.

It makes little sense? Really? We've beaten Georgia Tech, Fordham and Bcuknell,. They've beaten Montana, Vermont and Cleveland State. We lost to Wisconsin and SU. They lost to Oklahoma State. What am I missing? We played one more ranked team. So what's the big deal? Our schedule, while not particularly tough is tougher than theirs? It is. So what?

Wow. 3/4 of their losses are to sub-100 teams. Nevada, Idaho State, and Illinois State. 2/3 of ours are to top 5 teams. Where do you come up with this "pretty close" crap? If we lost to the teams SF did your head would've exploded by now and rightfully so, our season would be over. Luckily all 3 of our losses are to respectable teams. 2 of which were expected. You can't just take 2 D1 schools that have roughly the same record and say they are "pretty close."

So, let me get this straight. We've lost to better teams than them. That's the logic for us beating them by 20? Don't get wrong, I predicted that we will do just that, but we've accomplished very little so far, and so has San Fran.

Maybe try looking at it from this perspective: We've beaten no one. Neither have they. Lavin said that Sunday wasn't a moral victory. If we're bragging about almost beating Syracuse, maybe it was?

I don't all of their losses are so bad. Nevada and Illinois State traditionally aren't cup cakes. I admit that I don't have their records in front of me, but I went to Normal, Illinois to watch Norm unveil his zone "statue" offense, and ISU beat the snot out of us. If we beat them, we'd be calling it a good win against a mid major. Nevada, too. They are traditionally a strong mid major. Most of our wins have come against some of the worst D1 teams in the country, and in most of those contests, we struggled to win the game.

I expect that tonight, we'll begin to see the team come together. I was proud to be an STJ fan on Sunday, despite the loss. If you play hard for 40 minutes, and you don't give up at any point, I'm fine w a loss. That's the way it goes sometimes.

No, the logic is we took care of the lesser teams on our schedule. They lost to 3 of them.

You simply stated their record and who they beat, based on that logic, it made little sense. Even if we considered who they beat or lost to, would beating San Fran be as good of a win if we played and beat Michigan instead? They are both 6-4. Michigan lost to every quality team they played and only quality victory is against Florida State. Its a rhetorical question. Which is why I believe your statement made little sense. However if you do believe San Fran is as good as Michigan, as your logic would suggest, please say so.

How does that add up to us being in a different league than them? We won the games that no one cares about. I agree, we did. They lost their point guard and probably have some serious growing pains since they did. That said, I bet if there is a line on tonight's game, you'll find that no oddsmaker expects anything close to a 20 point victory.

And why? Because they think that these two teams are fairly matched. Not evenly matched, but I think fairly. They could beat us. They killed us last year. Their bigs can shoot the ball, and we have not been interested in contesting jumpers this season.

13 point win is closer to 20 point win than fairly matched in my book. Also, our RPI rank is #42....theirs is #285

Us - 78
Them - 63

Were up as much as 23 with about 5 minutes to go, and they cut it to 15 once we lay down and put Marco + walk-ons in.

Marco hit's two 3's against SF's walkons and member of the board clamor for more PT.

Allow me to have a pat myself on the back Marillac moment.
I predicted 26 point win.
We won by 24.
