Second game in a row where we are destroying a team we are supposed to destroy...would love to have at least the Penn State game back.

I know it's San Francisco, but our defense these last few games (in the 2nd halves) have been outstanding..

Even though we are so good when we run at play fast paced, it still looks like we need a little help on our spacing on the break....

It is our defense that is making sure this stays a blow out.

Sanchez reminds more and more of Kyle Cuffe every time he plays...    ;)

Feels good to see what this team can do when they put a full game together

And that is why I think this team is beginning to get it and is going to eventually live up to the hype.  Offense missed some easy chances tonight and then kind of fell asleep midway thru the second half or that could have been a 40 point win tonight.

And I agree it is San Fran but keep in mind they are averaging 84 points a game and scored 57.  That is a 27 point difference and they didn't even have 50 until late in the game when it was long over.

They held Syracuse to 29 second half points.  Held Fordham to under 60.

Bill Raftery said it early in the year, if SJU commits itself on the defensive end this year they can be special.

Not a bad crowd for a Wednesday night vs San Francisco. The new PA announcer has got to go. He is the Indian guy who used to do the timeout contests. Tries to sound like he's announcing a 1950's boxing match.

wouldnt be surprised if he was just filling in for a game or 2. Dunno if he has been there al year or not...

Good game for a few reasons.

1) I like how we came off a close loss to Cuse and crushed this team.
2). Mixed up defenses more which is a thing Lavin has traditionally done.  I like mixing looks up personally.
3) since the Fordham game, our offense has looked a ton smoother (exception first half of Cuse game).  Even against Cuse, we made great adjustments at the half and turned things around.  Our offense is coming together.

The team overall is coming together at both ends.  Rotations have been good and effective.  Love how Jordan is improving steadily.

My biggest disappointment is Sir'Dom's lack of any offensive development.  He's purely a dunker on offense. His jumpshooting has been atrocious.  Love him as a player overall, but he will never advance without being able to put the rock in the hoop.  I really wish we had one of those long SF's with range to 3...

He tries to sound like Howard Cosell and its painful.

His looks seem a whole lot better on his catch and shoots as opposed to when he dribbles for a couple steps then pulls up. Every year it has taken him a month or two to find his offensive rhythm, hopefully he finds it for good soon.

Edit: At least in this game it seemed that way.

This was a team win as virtually all contributed.  Lavin really called off the horses tonight as he has no PG in for the last 5 minutes as Marco "handled" the ball.  This easily could have been a 35 point win.  There was especially good defensive help/switching in the second half.  The trap took anything they had left out of them.  How about 43 in the first half--must be our best 1st half all year.  Watched Walters and he has a bit of Rice in him.  Can see why Doolin left along with the guy who was leading scorer against us last year.  Walters seems to be always complaining and gets in players' faces; ho sign of any positive comments from him.  Another time Walters kicked the scorers table in a real class move.   Also noticed a lot of chipiness from SF players late in game and ref came over to warn Walters to cool it.  Also noticed he had 3 kids who never got in the game when Steve cleared the bench.

Tao Xu on San Francisco had a remarkable stat line. He played 10 minutes, didn't attempt a shot, get an assist, grab a rebound, block a shot, get a steal or commit a foul. His only stat was he turned it over once.
