We scored 90 and only had  13 assists?   That's troubling.
Our foul shooting  is improved over last year.  I know that's not much consolation after the Cuse game, but our shooting from 3 and the foul line is statistically better by a decent margin.

Guess their 16 offensive rebounds will get some attention.

I think both the fans and coach Steve feel winning this year is a must. If coach feels Felix can help us win, he's in. Win now.

Further complicating rotation and reducing someone else's minutes.  Can't play ten or eleven every game. Unnecessary move at this point, unless something else is going on. I know, the horse is dead!

Most annoying part about Lavin's coaching is his constant shuffling. Started the walkon in NIT which was odd and so was Felix thing today( I hope it is just that and not anything else). I believe his first year he was doing weird lineup  stuff too up until Fordham. After that game he basically stuck to a rotation and lineup. Hopefully we don't have to lose to Columbia for him to do that again this year. No matter what he does Harrison and Sampson play the most which basically tells me they are the only two he has 100% confidence in. Greene would seem to be third in line.

Clearly he does some odd things. Cali contrarian I guess.

Lavin is still figuring out what he's doing w the rotation. I agree it is pretty annoying that he doesn't know what he wants it to be yet. I thought Greene went strong to the basket today. Harrison, and Pointer did as well.

I personally, don't like seeing Obekpa come off the bench. Sampson can score, but he doesnt play within the team concept. He gets a rebound and dribbles coast to coast. Why is he drubbing after getting a rebound? If can't pass the ball, you have no business bringing it up.

Sampson had a couple of nice coast to coast runs today that either ended in points for himself or a couple passes to set up points for others. He is pretty fast and doesn't have terrible ball control...while I'd rather somebody else bringing the ball up, there are much better things that could be critiqued after this one.

Sampson actually did a great job bringing the ball up a couple of times today.  Once he went coast to coast for a layup and another he dished to Greene on the left wing, who drove to the basket and scored.

Like it or not, this is Lavin's system.  He said when he first got here that heikes multiple guys on the court to be able to bring the ball up after a rebound.  Obekpa and Gift are probably the only two who absolutely are banned from doing so.

Thought Dlo played a great game to day. I have a feeling we are all going to wish we had an Orlando Sanchez come in every year. His numbers may not be great but the kid is just solid, solid, solid. He never really hurts you.

I thought we played well in this game, our defense was lacking like some posters have pointed out, but overall I was pleased. I think the main difference with this being a 10 point instead of a 20 point was Rysheed. His defense would have really made the game tough for their star guard.

Wish the best to Rysheed and his mother, and am excited for him to get back to playing. I don't think he is going anywhere, he seemed to be really enjoying himself the last few games, and his minutes were on a serious uptick. I see why Lavin activated Felix. Without Rysheed we are left with a 3 man rotation at backcourt with Branch, Harrison and Greene. Lavin doesn't have confidence in Phil running the point, and he doesnt want Marco or Hooper to get extended minutes. I could understand if the decision to activate Felix had no bearing on Rysheed and his future plans.

just back--crowd larger than I expected.  Biggest disappoint was the lines at the "concession stand"  They did not have some items today and the length of the lines was unacceptable.  They did not have the "satellite" stands open where they only sell soda/water/packaged snacks.  Concession manager should be let go.

As to the game. was glad we won but disappointed under 20.  I thought the defense in the second half on Perry was excellent (thanks to Sir-great effort) as he had 14 in 1st and only 6 in second half.  Our 3point shooting was unconscious--congrats to Dangelo for setting the record early on his 1st shot.  Phil played with vigor.  Sad to not see Rasheed today but more for his offensive skills as he would have been driving through the Penguins with ease.

Need to work on rebounding but a win is a win.  It will be interesting to see how many Y-state wins as they are better offensively than I gave them credit for prior to the game.

@jeffborzello: St. John's has "activated" redshirt guard Felix Balamou because of Rysheed Jordan's absence (family illness). Interesting.

Not looking to start a riot or panic, but am sensing something is up here. Activating Felix makes no sense.

Come come now, no need for such negativity. Such passive aggressive comments are certainly unnecessary.  When has coach Lavin been anything but forthright and open in his explanations of such scenarios as the Gods Gift redshirt issue and DLo's removal from the team. I'm sure there is a logical explanation for his actions.

Where is your sense of trust and faith in this Holiday season?

Linda not sure what your insinuating, is there a time Lavin wasn't truthful with the situation?

Amir and Jakarr worked to get here.
Gift didn't transfer to Harvard
D did his part and returned

No it's really not. We scored 90 points. If there's anything to nitpick here it's the defense.

You left out The GLUE, and CO gonna get his. When Jordan is back he will get his, Branch and Sanchez will not be left out altogether. I think Felix starting today was a reward for making it back. Now that he is we will get to see why Coach Steve made the move.

Agree fully, it's funny posters clamor for more inside play and driving, but when that is done successfully, the inside man is holding the ball and then scoring, no assist. Or the dribble man is finishing at the rim.

Offense looked great today minus Sheed not being there. If Sheed plays we hit 100.

I think Felix being activated is more telling of his confidence in Marco/Hooper.

I think Felix's activation has more to do with him getting healthy and impressing the staff in practice coupled with Dom's and Branch's offensive struggles than Jordan's situation.
