I don´t know if St. John´s is recruiting him, but this 6' 5" forward from Christ the King is having very good numbers:

This is an article about him:

He's a good player but not BE level.  I heard Manhattan is really hot after him and he can do real good on MAAC level.

I coached against him in middle school. He was UN stoppable because he was so strong. Kid was like 6'3 and had a mans body. He wasn't overly skilled but he would rebound any missed shot he took. My guys were afraid of him. He is a very nice kid from a good family. I am shocked he is being recruited D-1 though. I figured that once people caught up to him physically he wouldn't be as good. I hope he does well.

@TheRecruitScoop Feb 10

Quinnipiac will host 2015 Christ the King (NY) wing Travis Atson at their game tonight.

Looks like it will be a battle of MAAC schools.

Duquesne recently offered & DePaul did so today. This year of prep school seems to be paying off. He should be moved to 16 section.

Is that what everyone said about Tyler Harris?

Tyler Harris started out at NC State.  No one (to my recollection) said he wasn't BE material.

I thought Tyler Harris was borderline Top 100 player

I think it's good for Travis that he left CTK. Playing in NEPSEC will continue to grow his game

Xavier, according to this article, may offer. Lav just told Tony to check him out at the first Christ the King game. :)  No staff there yesterday apparently.

He'll be a very valuable glue guy in college, loved his game at CTK.

Glue guys like this are great.  But the problem is that some of these players bite off more than they can chew.  Take Brian Bernardi as an example.  Years ago he had chance to come to SJU as last guy on the bench.  I was talking to people very close to him and they were wrestling with what direction to go.  Instead he chose to go to another school far away and never got his PT and then transferred home to be 'the man' at Hofstra.

Travis will have similar dilemma.  Kids need to embrace that glue guy role more I think.

And to further support your opinion Moose, many potential glue guys, who decide that the glue guy role is acceptable, wind up with decent overseas bball careers.  We see that over and over, so it's interesting to me why a kid like Bernardi chose what he did at the time.
