Smith-Rivera is outscoring our team, and we have redshirts and walk-ons guarding him.

Anyone notice some particular posters who have not shown up on either site.  One particular bully who would constantly put down anyone who criticisized the almighty Steve Lavin and the other the eternal optimist.  I just wonder what they think of this debacle.

Dude, don't revel in the team's disarray.
The homers get on my nerves too when they ignore fact and reason.   But we're a st johns bball community.
I'd rather the team win then get to say "I told you so" to the Lavin hype men.

Losing like this is bad enough, you don't need to shove it in people's faces.

Dude?  I don't revel at all in this, I am quite upset but whenever I suggested issues in the past, I was met with constant BS by the afore mentioned posters.  I would rather they be right but they have been wrong all along and never called to task for their bully type, condescending behavior.  And I am not referring to the guy I called the eternal optimist as while I may disagree with his point of view I respect him as a real fan.

I'm pretty sure Lavin thinks the rule is that you have to start the same players in the 2nd half that you did in the 1st

I'm one of those homers.   This is tough to take.    You have free reign to take to task the coaches and us homers.

I have to say, my compliments and kudos to this message board for keeping it 'above the belt' with regard to the kids on the court.   Despite all of our disappointment, it's nice to see the board not completely melt down and start saying stupid stuff.

Time for Hooper to pull a Bourgault and score a boatload vs. Georgetown in garbage time to get our hopes up.

All that is gonna accomplish is get him more PT in future games that he doesnt necessarily deserve

Georgetown is clearly better than us, but w some more energy this half, its clear there was a chance if played perfect this could have been a game.

Thus, the only way to have made this a game is if we started out hot...which was undermined from before the tip by lavin starting balamou and ndiaye.  Its one thing if you want to teach jakarr a lesson and start another rotation player in pointer...or i dont know, decide to start our second best guard in jordan over greene.  But balamou and ndiaye and it is a definite that things will not go as well as possible.

Lavin needs to expain himself. This isnt cyo and is was a very important game for us.  I attribute any lack of energy we played w to lavin here.

We need a coach who doesntmake subs or starting lineups based on a whim. Even norm when he played guys too much it was obviously bc he felt like they were the best for the job, erroneously. That is not what you have here otherwise ndiaye woulda played more.  Unreal.  Wake up.

I love the timeout by Lavin after we have our 3 best possessions on both ends of the game. Good timing.

Yikes

@StJohnsBBall: #SJUBB Starters: F Ndiaye, F Sanchez, G Pointer, G Balamou, G Harrison. First time all season with this lineup.

I'm not watching now.

Wise choice

Agree they have seemed to play with more energy.  I think that Lavins mind games with his starting lineups is having a negative affect on this team, how else do you explain the usual bad start unless the team is completely unprepared.  And if that's the case then what is Whitesell doing here?  I will say again that I don't believe that G Town  is that much better, certainly not in personel, coaching is another story.  Just discouraging all around.

Hooper will start next game.

Honestly, maybe he should.  We desperately need someone who can extend the d.

Jordan, harrison, hooper, jakarr, obekpa would be my starting 5. Sirdom for hooper and sanchez for obekpa as first subs.

Keep hooper/obekpa and sirdom/sanchez together to not lose too much defense or offense at any time.

Here is an un Linda. Mirabella like prediction .  I believe they will regroup from this better second half and beat Nova next week.  After all, they have hit rock bottom, the only way to go is up.  If these kids do some soul searching it can happen.
