3 and 5 those are the magic numbers

Keep these numbers down and watch the win total go up.  It is like a see saw affect.

I just noticed the box score from the other day and the numbers which stood out most to me was the amount of minutes Branch and Sanchez played and this will be the key to the season.  I have been saying these guys need to see less of the floor and let the other players get some more runs to maximize their talent.  Sanchez has totally stunted the growth of Obekpa and Sampson that I think he becoming eligible this year destroyed the season.  This was Stevie's boy who he claimed was as good of an incoming front court player as their was in the country.  Tony from in here seems like a decent cat but him claiming Sanchez plays good team defense is comical.  That play from the last game summed up how bad of a defender he is when he never even turned around after the play blew by him.  Branch just cant cut it he tries to be way too fancy, is another very poor defender, and has absolutely no outside game (still) in his 3rd year in college.

Obekpa should have been starting from the get go and maybe that is a reason he is finally coming on because he knows his role and is getting more meaningful minutes.  Jordan is very good on both ends of the floor and seems to be learning on the job which he should have been doing from the beginning.  Harrison looks great and Jakar looks like Jakar of last year.  Greene is a very nice complimentary player when he isn't asked to do a lot and Pointer (if he can control himself and his emothions is a perfect 6th man energy guy off the bench and then God's Gift should be the 7th guy he gives you tough minutes just has the worst hands.  After that no one should get more than 5 minutes a game except in blowouts.

This team looked absolutely dead all through non conference play and the beginning of Big East play.  He finally has the right guys playing (not sure why it took so long) and maybe it isn't too late to make a run.

Again the magic numbers are 3 and 5 and those have to remain that way for us to have any chance this year and making the season worth while and that is by making a trip to the dance.  If not he has to go.

I think it's a little late to give yourself an out on the Lavin thing.  At this point you're committed to him going, even if we win a championship.  Heck, your name is "Needs2go."  It doesn't read "Needs2goif...," it's just Needs2go.  After the small winning streak you've been adding caveats (really just the one multiple times - the NCAA tourney).  That's silly, stick to your guns.

As to the actual content of your post:

Unfortunately I agree with the Sanchez part.  He has his one or two minute spurts where he's great, but more often than not he seems to be hindering the team.  It's nice having a forward who can bring the ball up on the break (kinda, it only works when no one picks him up because he's generally looking down rather than up ahead), but I'd rather just go three guards if it's a problem.  He's just too streaky and inefficient with his shot and playmaking ability without adding enough on D to make up for it.

The Branch thing I don't agree with.  I'm not saying he should be playing more minutes than Jordan or Harrison, but he has saved two games recently by coming in to control the team and stop the bleeding.  He can handle, has good court vision, loves the one-handed pass with english on it, and plays D (not sure why you're hatin on his d).  If he would just stop trying to draw fouls on layups and just worry about making the layup, he'd be averaging at least 2 more ppg.   Again, not saying he should get 30 minutes but 10-15 seems about right to me; spelling Jordan when he has his freshman moments (Even the past few games he goes through some spurts of playing like a freshman, which is expected) Harrison when he needs a breather, or coming in as a third guard (sorry Carmine).

Sanchez obviously needs to sit, but if you think Branch needs to sit...you need to go.
