Great win! Now we must guard against over confidence against the Hall. You would not believe how easily college kids become over confident. Even Norm's teams did after a few wins. Keep your eyes on the prize boys!

Jordan had a big impact, and yet had 4 or 5 points. Tells you how good this kid is going to be.  He will make the NBA.

Huge impact, but that jumper is brutal.  If Dom/Jordan/Branch were even average shooters we would have won by double-digits.  Creighton was really packing it in late...teams will take notice and someone other than Harrison and Greene will have to make jumpers.

Dont think his Jumper is that bad and honestly am not worries about it. Some games its pure.

Great W. CU flops a lot and gets away with moving screens!

CO with some good def against Wragge. Crowd was small, but pretty loud.

At one point McD couldn't get to a pass that was thrown to him so he flopped to the floor looking for a foul. It was disgusting.

Also we need to stop getting flagrant fouls, keep the composure guys.
on the replay, it looked like O was trying to raise the ball over his head so he can pass it out. Gibbs was glued to him at that point. It didn't seem as though it was intentional.

Before yesterday's game (not sure what three's he took), he had been over 40% from three during big east play... his jumper is coming along just fine.

Also...Phil Greene's role tonight was perfect!!!

Absolutely. got a couple of assists, didn't take too many shots or do too much.

Who cares about all that: he only committed one personal foul!!!! That's some balling right there.

By far the best game this team has played all year.  This team IS a tourney caliber team.  Whether we make it or not (I think it requires at least 6 more wins between reg season and postseason (preferably 5-2 in conf w at least one win in tourney), the way the team is playing right now we are good enough to do what it takes to make it and good enough to have a shot at a few wins if we make it.  Consistency is key though - gotta come back and beat the hall and then win a huge game against gtown.

Love the progress Jordan and Obekpa have made, love greenes role, love Jakarr embracing the d yesterday and love what dlo did. For all th crap we gave Lavin, he deserves credit now too.  And FWIW Jakarrs comments that it was lavins positive attitude and spirit that got them through the tough times seemed totally genuine.

Between the 3s and the foulshots this obviously wasn't rysheed's best shooting game.  But he's been ok for the most part.

Dom on the other hand drives me nuts.   I want to be his biggest fan, but the offense absolutely dies when he gets the ball.   He gets more open looks and holds the ball longer than any player I've ever seen.

Dom is just too easy to defend. Absence of functional jumper, allows his man to cheat. His outside game will not improve, we'll have to accept whatever he brings defensively and crowd pleasing dunks.

Doms best work came in the first half. Creighton was having fun and could have made things ugly. When Dom checked out we had a lead snd the tone had changed. He is inconsistent, so we need every body to get it done.

Finally able to get over the hump and beat a good team but lets not kid our selves and make it out like we are an unbelievable defensive team because in all honesty Creighton missed one wide open jump shot after another and to top it off missed more free throws than I am sure they missed all season.

Jakar did a great job on McDermott but that is a great matchup for Jakar as the athlete just blanketed the finesse guy.  This fan base loves to crown players king and send them straight to the NBA after one very solid performance.  Lets see Sampson play defense like this on a regular basis before we give him Big East Defensive player of the year.

I am happy they won but once again they executed very poorly down the stretch just got lucky Creighton had a totally off night and I only say that because a majority of their shots were wide open looks.  If they shot 13-40 and St Johns made them take ugly shots I would give them all the credit but lets not try to fool ourselves here.

Harrison was once again very clutch down the stretch and is a great closer this team has and hadn't had for many many years prior to him.

No to be honest I don't think we wore them down at all I saw them miss one wide open look after another and brick one foul shot after another.

Sampson did a great job blanketing Sampson but Dougie still hit his average.

The other players came up real small and St Johns on a normal night could have lost this game by 8.

The rest of the team besides Doug

13-38 FGs most wide open looks
10-20 FTS  ouch

Lets not kid ourselves guys Creighton played terrible so not sure if you guys were watching the same game as me or you watched it through foggy glasses but if Creighton plays anywhere near what they are capable we don't win that game.  Besides Harrison once again it looked like they put a lid over out basket for the last 10 minutes.

Good win over a good team but once again this fan base doesn't know how to take things in stride.  We are still 5-6 in league with one quality win all year.  Our league will get no more than 4 teams in and probably only 3 so pipe down with this contract extension talk until we prove something.

Did you see Sir with no Love land that accurate muay thai technique flying knee to the head of that little Creighton guard?  Impressive.

True dat!  Hexagon is the most cerebral basketball player.  He never turns the ball over...he never fouls...always makes good decisions on the court.  He is a joy to watch, isn't he?

4-20 3's

I forgot to put the 3 point statistic in there and cant wait for a delusional fan possibly Paultzman try to tell me St Johns is good at defending the 3.

Creighton played by far their worst game of the year and St John's was lucky to be on the other side.  If anyone thinks that was a great or dominating performance by St John's is off their rocker.  No way was that their best game of the year.

You have to be fair and judge the game both ways.  Creighton couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat no other way to look at it because most of them were good looks.

Because trust me most of the time 10+20 doesn't equal W we just got very lucky at how poorly Creighton shot the ball.

3+5=W

so you're not willing to give SJU any credit for the gameplan and execution of strategy?  You're just going to blame Creighton for having their worst game of the year?  No credit that maybe, just maybe our defense caused such a bad game?
