There are some key differences   from the first game.....1) their big guy from UCLA is gone   2) Smith-Rivera can't possibly shoot as well as he did in the first half again  3)  D'Lo can't possibly shoot as badly 4)  We are much better at staying out of foul trouble   5) We play much better defense.....6) Jordan is a different player   7) Needs to go hadn't gotten here yet

What else?

This has been a terrible matchup for us over the years. Ball screen defense & communication has to improve

Can't let their average bigs kill us like  SH interior guys did last night. Allow second chances & they will kick out to their solid guards for threes. Finally, please don't get caught up on switches off ball screens & allow post up buckets.  We switch every time and never fight though screens, with exception of Rysheed.

@hoyablue: We have sold out all tickets to the St. John's game this Sunday. We're pumped for the road trip and can't wait to keep the win streak going!

Hopefully the coach doesn't start a walk on and last guy on the bench. That would be huge.

This one is huge obviously. Win this game and take care of business against Butler and we are essentially playing with house money at Nova. Lose this one and the Nova game is an absolute must win

GT blog perspective;

What I take away from that is our guards go for the rim, and smother them in the half court . If our bigs play, we win. Sanchez's minutes could be huge. Short leach?

Heard GG's the surprise starter, just to prove a point to all the sarcastic posters that Coach is crazier than all of you combined - ;)

offensively, SJU needs to go to the hoop and get a decent amount inside from Obekpa and Sanchez and then, defense MUST BE SOLID, work thru screens, limit 3s. Rebound totals may tell the story.

We have sold very few tickets to the Hoya game this Sunday.  We're pumped to go to Home Depot to purchase rock salt and snow shovels. Perhaps we will catch a few minutes of the game on the FS1 rewind on Monday.  Can't wait for our hopes and dreams to be dashed yet again.  :(

I worried this game is going to get really chippy. There's no love lost between these teams. Three technicals handed out last game and Games prior to that have been chippy as well. Hoping no body does anything stupid.

Is there an undercard for Pointer vs. Trawick?

I believe we have more talent...if we play with the same sense of urgency (call it fear of losing) that we played with against Creighton, we win

Wow......if it weren't impossible for me to root against us, I'd put good money on Gtown.

@NYPost_Brazille: Jamal Branch had a tooth extracted on Saturday and is expected to play tomorrow. #sjubb

Little humor;

@NYPost_Brazille: Khadim Ndiaye has the flu and will not play tomorrow, breaking St. John's fans  hearts everywhere. #sjubb

Think it, don't say it;

@NYPost_Brazille: Sir'Dominic Pointer reiterates he doesn't like Georgetown and adds this caveat: "They're dirty." #sjubb
