If he gets past our guards, Oblockpa's gonna rake him with his hoe.

He's a big.  He starts out past our guards.

Gotta make the game an up and down affair.  While he is rather agile in the half court for a man his size, he isn't very quick at running up and down.  Speed the game up.  Unfortunately, that won't be an issue for Otule.

Do you think opposing teams ever say that about us?     Serious question, I'm not trying to troll.

Very, Very, Very reliable source says this assessment by BE coaches of Lavin:

Players love him. All Hype no substance.  Can't game coach.  Every coach in the BE hates him.

So I would so no. Teams don't say that.

I don't give 2 craps what other BE coaches think of him. They all loved Norm.

Loved Norm because he gave them all the recruits...

Jay Wright does not hate Lavin (I think the exact opposite).  Boeheim, when he was in the league, did not either.  As far as the Cooley's, Willard's, etc of the world, you are probably correct.

Desco I think a lot of other teams recognize we have good players and lots of talent.  As far as Lavin, who knows.  Only coach I've heard go out of his way this year to compliment Lavin was Jay Wright, who said that coach's defensive scheme against Nova the last game was terrific.

We've become the best defensive team in the league.  Offensively, we've seen flashes of a scheme.  Why it isn't there in every game is beyond me.  Some of the defensive success, as well as the offensive deficiencies, can be attributed to the players and some to the coach.  Lavin has done a great job recruiting thus far.  I don't really care what the other coaches think.

It's funny reading another Big East centered board.  Posters there have a love fest, complimenting each other and stating how much respect they have for the other teams, their fans and coaches.  They all have nothing but negativity toward St. John's, their "thug" players, arrogant fans (and New Yorkers in general), as well as our coach.

I had the temerity, not too long ago, to suggest that I wouldn't mind a matchup in the BET with Nova because I think we match up well with them.  I was attacked by Nova fans.  Other Johnny fans are attacked anytime they say something in support of, or in defense of our team.

We can all fight within the family.  We even have to put up with outsiders coming on the board pretending to be Johnny fans with "legitimate criticism" of our team's play and overall lack of success.  As for me, this is my team and I will defend it against attack from other fans.

The guy who runs Big East Boards thinks Saint John's stinks, Lavin's an imbecile, and most SJU fans are dopes.
