What's bs is if you go to espn scores thy refuse to list big east scores on the initial score page unless the be team which is in action is a top 25 team.   After the top 25/ seem to list every team imaginable other than the BE.  If that's not tv motivated I don't know what is

It's a list of all the games on the ESPN family. However, if you're on ESPN.com and the NCAAM scoreboard at the top lists all games from the day, including BE games. However, during the regular season it only shows top 25 games.

I agree the team has played better once Obepka and Jordan's roles were increased and Greene and Sanchez were decreased.

In 3 of our most recent 4 games,  Parallelogram has played 31, 35 and 37 minutes respectively plus he starts.  I'm incredibly concerned he'll be rusty for the BE tournament. LOL

Deep dish remains a vital and critical piece of our puzzle.  Hollywood's reliance on Rectangle certain not to diminish now that we're in crunch time.

They pretty much gave up on the point guard disaster. Now he hits a couple of early threes then drifts around virtually unnoticed the rest of the game. I can live with that.

Phil Greene is an important player to this team. He's a guy who can hit spot up jumpers at a good clip. Many of his threes come at times when we really need them.
In the last 10 games, how many 2nd half points has Greene scored?

Come on...just say it already.  Phil Greene is your new favorite player, right?  HE'S SHOOTING 43%. FROM THREE.  That's the skill you admire most, remember?  You know, Larry Michigan Wright? the 700 posts praising his 3 point shooting prowess and how Norm didn't use this unique talent correctly?  your in depth analysis of shooting form? your stellar Cyo career where you once scored 30 points all from outside the paint?

Just admit it already.  The truth will set you free!

How many first half points has he scored? He's averaging 6.5 per game since Dartmouth. Every PG4 game ever: he hits his first two shots and is never heard from again.

Well at least we know why he starts

Maybe he should just play the last 2 minutes then

That could hurt his foul numbers

I would bet that Greene has the lowest number of Personal Fouls and foul shots combined for a starting guard in the history of the Big East in all its formats.

I've never heard of that combo statistic.  Is that anything like assist/turnover ratio?  He's doing really well in that!

That's like giving credit to a kid for not grounding in to double plays, when he never swings the bat.

PG kills  the flow of the offense Carmine; he can't penetrate the lane, and always...always needs to dribble the ball before he can pass it.
He should be a capable scorer of the bench, but he really needs to be told to be more aggressive.

Don't know how anybody can write negatively about this kid.  He has put together a fine junior season that's certainly the best of his three.  Obviously, overall he's been a big plus for us on the season and I have no doubt that without him, our bubble would have burst a long time ago.

P.S.  In some circles (get it),  a cerebral player that plays in control, doesn't turn the ball over like ever, doesn't force things and let's the game come to him would be considered a good thing.  Especially when you're not the star of the team.  I know that it means nothing and doesn't apply here in Jungle land.

People talk negatively about him because your continual praise is effusive and absurd. If you started a bunch of idiotic threads about how insanely hot Maggie Gyllenhaal is and backed up your stupid theory with meaningless statistics proving that her calves are much more in keeping with ideals of Greek beauty compared to Scarlett Johansson's and pie charts displaying how wonderfully Maggie's liver metabolized glucose people would be similarly dismissive. So to recap: it's not Greene's play, it's your nice personic enamorment with his play and your ridiculous defense of his very average ability. Basically if you shut your piehole no one would talk about him at all.

Screw you and your revisionist history.  You guys started it.  All my pro-Greene rhetoric is in response to unwarranted vicious attacks on this player.

Now it's been going on for so long that it's sort of like the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

But I'm liking it.  Rhombus and I are killing you guys lately.  43% from three and an almost 3 - 1 assist turnover ratio, or what you would call - "meaningless stats".  And whether you want to admit it or not,  his role as guard defensive stopper is undeniable on a team in which defense, not offense, has been the story of the year.

Phil Greene defensive stopper?   You have to be kidding me.
His on the ball defense is a charade.   Gets in your face, then lets the ball handler blow bye, and he back peddles to recover.
It's token defense at best, when he presses like that.   There's no legitimate pressure on the ball handler.

And off the ball he is a huge liability.  3 out of 4 possessions at one point in the first half of the Villanova game I watched him chase Bell or Hillard from three steps behind them, and then go under neath screens while they made wide open 3s.    Phil has never seen a screen he thought he could fight through.

But I genuinely feel bad even having this discussion.  Phil is a nice complimentary player.   And no one on here would criticize him anymore than any of the other guys in the rotation if you didn't pump him up so much Carmine.   Well that, and Lavin chooses to play him too much sometimes.
But by and large this fan base likes Phil Greene when he's used properly.  ie 15-20mins at shooting guard.

Take this thread as a perfect example.  It's entitled "Thursday's a play in game!".  It's going along fine and I had participated in it with no mention of my MFP until your boon companion and fellow Greene hater Wasju writes  "I agree the team has played better once Obepka and Jordan's roles were increased and Greene and Sanchez were decreased." That's a backhand slap at Phil and just plain stupid as I quickly point out that Triangle is playing a ton of minutes lately including 35 and 37 in our last two must have wins.  Then he replies with some idiotic comment about how points scored later in games count for more in the total than points scored earlier in games or some nonsense and round and round it goes.

As always, I didn't start it.  I finished it.

If Mean Joe spends significant time guarding James Cotton when we're in man today, as he did during the regular season,  will you admit that I'm right and your wrong?

What more certain proof of a players role can there be?

Complete *mischaracterization.    What actually happened, is everyone and their brother complained that P.G. shouldn't be playing point guard.   Not that he was a bad basketball player mind you, just not a point guard.  But you, despite all evidence to the contrary, said he was an exemplary point guard.  Not serviceable, but "good" is what you said.
That was over a year ago.
And from there on you have defended PG from all attackers.   And in the process you have repeatedly assailed the much under-appreciated Jamal Branch.

That's a nice pic.  He looks so young and healthy there.  Yes, you did.  You were right, I was wrong and I admitted it in no uncertain terms.  I love it on general principal when basketball talk turns to music.

Just to refresh every ones memory on this ancient history and for the viewers playing along at home.  Although,  there are instances of Bird having played tenor live and in concert,  he primarily played and is well known as an alto player.  Furthermore,  you can distinguish the two instruments visually by the unique shape of the neck of the respective instruments.

Now, isn't it time for your camp to wave the white flag?  43%?  Or,  I could just keep kicking your butt and making you look foolish on this topic as I have been for ions now.

It took two days of me beating you about the head with a two by four to get you to admit what was obvious to nearly anyone who was paying attention to your frantic blatherings. Since you insist on mischaracterizing what happened, here's a link to the thread, in which you postulated among other things that a "compelling argument that could reseanably [sic] be made is that I [carmine] am a better singer than [renee fleming]."

Now, isn't it time for your camp to wave the white flag?  43%?

Regarding the mediocrity that is PG4, here are his statistics for the year. In 25 mpg:

8 pts, 2 reb, 1 assist, .41 % FG, .65 % FT, 43% 3PP

You are free to believe that those statistics represent one possessing laudatory basketball skills. They suggest to me that he does nothing particularly well except one thing, or two if you count not committing fouls, and no one without a brain injury does.

The word you're looking for is eon. An ion is a particle formed in gas, which makes sense, as that's what you're full of.
